MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Alienware said that a black m15x was coming during the last AlienNeywork video. I'm sure it'll be around as good or better than the m17x, if Alienware designed a black chassis for the m15x, I'm sure that they worked on improving it, too. Plus, I posted pictures in a thread I made a while ago of the black m15x appearing on Alienware's site, it was kind of hidden, like it was there as a mistake or as a secret.
BTW, is the AlienNetwork video live or already recorded? -
Tomorrow basically decides if I get another AW again, lol. If they pull out montevina and 9xxx cards for the m17x and new case designs, they may get my business again
We all know though there is a small chance that will happen but I would like to think that they would bring out the latest technology for the price they are charging. Idk but AW needs to do something, you can't sell notebooks that are not as good or slightly better for $1000-$2000 more. Looks like we will see tomorrow

MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
They could change it like that in real-time, it's a simple effect. Yeah, it probably is pre-recorded. It would be sweet if it was live and there was a live chat during the video (that doesn't stay on the recorded copy) so people could ask questions during the show and chat about them. I want a black Montevina m15x starting at around $1200 with a 9600M GT, then I'll buy one tomorrow! I would upgrade to the 9800M GTX at the end of the year...
They could pull off that price, Dell does, plus Montevina processors and 9 series video cards are cheaper (except for the 9800M GTX), but will they?
One thing to keep in mind: The 8600M GT is defective. Does Alienware really want to deal with extra repairs and more angry customers? I would think that NVIDIA is sort of forcing notebook manufacturers to switch to the 9 series. -
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I meant that they should answer questions live, instead of preselecting them. Then, they could just edit the video for a copy that they have later. What are people really going to ask, anyway? It'll mostly be about a black m15x chassis, skullcap for the black m15x and m17x, Montevina, and NVIDIA's 9 series. Their desktops already have the latest hardware in them, so I'm sure that they'll mostly talk about their notebooks.
-
Just an m15x with the same build quality as the m17x and I will be happy replacing mine own m15x with another m15x. If not then I'll go with the m17x.
Black would be a great option too. -

This is really off-topic, but this video is a really funny prank call to Alienware (disclaimer: I didn't make it
). The first few and the last few minutes suck, but around half-way through the first part, the video is ROFL funny. The video is best if you watch the whole thing without skipping.

Part 2:

For good measure, if you're bored waiting, this one has nothing to do with Alienware, but it's still really funny nonetheless:

i cant watch youtube from where i am.....its blocked.... -
. i loved the ram part tho.

i i really hope its not a m15x refresh lol just ordered my M860TU ... alien ware staff at a convention made it very clear the m15x is pretty much accepted as an eccentric failure in house.
gosh if its a cheap m15x 9800 GT in black im going to be mighty annoyed lol i think im really going to be angsty over not having a smartbay in my M860TU/NP8660 -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master

i understand heath....but that is why there is more then one place to buy from.
personally, i think AW is still tops, even with all the issues with the 15.
i think the 'new' 15 will be a 'new and improved' version of the original, and have high hopes that they have resolved issues that have driven many away from AW.
they have already solved several issues with new bios, patches, updates and what not and feel they have learned a hard lesson.
but on the flip side (sager fanboys will never say bad about this - even if you go read the threads they all chalk it up to. "well they are not perfect, or, it is not thier fault, or it is new hardware, gotta give it a chance) i think sager/clevo is/are having issues of thier own that show neither actually did research either regarding items they offered in the PRE-SALES to the public.
now they are eating $$$$ to compensate for these issues. while they are being customer service conscious, to which i applaud, they are also alienating others who have placed orders with items no longer offered or available due to lack of proper testing, or as they say limited units available (gpu).
that all said - lol - i am looking forward to the updated unit, and still plan on my BLACK AW being in my house very soon. -
am i seeing this right? -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Yeah, it's in the knowledgebase. Kind of like the leak for the original m15x...
I'll wait until any announcements tomorrow before I get too excited, but if the specs are true (not all of the original specs that were leaked out for the current m15x were true), I'm sure it'll be Alienware's best notebook yet by far! I wonder if they'll improve the casing along with adding a black chassis, maybe with a slightly better shape and design? We'll see tomorrow.
-
but i want black ripley....lol
man i hope it is true...got my CC in hand...lol
what sucks is that i will be asleep during the BIG announcement... -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I'll be up
. I wish I could be the first person to order, but I think that I have a few months left before I'll have enough for the config I'd want. I have around $750 (after I'm done selling some software) saved up for tomorrow, still not enough to get a m15x. If I could make a few hundred quickly, I'd pull the trigger on a base model and upgrade the RAM. Then in December I'd buy an Extreme processor on eBay for around $400-$500 and get a 9800M GTX upgrade from Alienware with some extra Birthday and Christmas money. What should I sell...? My Wii? I don't play that anymore, plus I could make $350 off of that with any games. I don't want to have to clear out my room to get just a base model tomorrow, though, so I might just wait until the end of the year to get a tricked-out model. Just throwing around ideas...
Anyway, if they don't add the skullcap design for black tomorrow, I'm sure that they'll add it at the end of the year. -
completely understand you delima...lol
if it were me though, for sure i would sell the wii...dont play console games cept for my friends when i am there.
but that is me....
i have saved up for the 15 since its debut. i have been quietly watching the boards, (although just joined recently), ads, reviews, and a host of other things. it takes me awhile to make decisions...lol
hope all works for all of us in this... -
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Opps! Yes, it's real...
BTW, I added it as an attachment for people that can't see the picture.
EDIT: Here's a few more to keep you even more excited for tomorrow:
I could tell you how and where I got them, but then I'd have to kill you.

@MICHAELSD01
Can you please link me?
And did the m15x specs in the knowledge base go back to original?
Oh man, the m15x is beautiful in black! -

http://4help.alienware.com/cgi-bin/...TEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1tMTV4&p_li=&p_topview=1
Alienware actually went back to pre-Quadro specs, so that was a quick and careless change on their part, but they'll just change it to the new specs tomorrow, anyway. I found the "360" view for the black m15x in Alienware's server, there isn't a link I could give to it. I'm not even sure if I could get to it again. I hope that they have it in black skullcap, I didn't see it anywhere, but that doesn't mean that they won't add it tomorrow. -
Well, they seem to be back to original specs now.
MICHAELSD01, can you tell me how you go the pics?
I am sorry, but I had to ask -
YES YES YES!!!!!
thx michael.
i also sent an email a few days ago regarding some issues about thier site information.
in it i told them i wanted to wait for a black 15. they responded in kind and said the offer would be valid until Oct and that they understood my desire to get a black one....
hope it was a nice way of saying we will offer black....but then again it was a politicaly correct response since they did not outright say it...lol
thx again michael...
not sure if i can sleep now either.... -
the linky went back to the 8 series cards...
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Yeah, but it was quick and careless change to the original specs. Notice how they don't list the Quadro 3600M and a few other changes that Alienware added when they launched the m15x? That stuff was there yesterday.
They took the black m15x 360 view off of their servers, I should've took more pictures. I actually found that 360 view a while ago, but Alienware wouldn't go to the trouble of designing a 360 degree view of the black m15x if they weren't going to launch it. -
well nice knowin ya ielsayed....mike has to kill you now....
at least i got the info too - i can carry on for the people ielsayed....your death will not be in vain... -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
!
-
Wait Mike you don't have to kill me now
Let me get my black m15x first -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Hopefully I'll be up in time for the AlienNetwork video... See you guys tomorrow!
BTW, I wish I had a Mac so I could use XCode to make a simple, but fun game, and make some extra money selling it in the iPhone App Store. I could easily make enough in a week with a quick, decent app. -
I am hoping to get some sleep now because I have to be up at 8 in the morning
-
holy crap... one day left!! AGH
-
laterz....guess i will suffer and just wait till i get up.....
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
. Wow, I really got to get to sleep if I want to be up for 3 PM. Staying up until 5 am is normal for me, during the summer at least
.
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I can see that we keep watching over what everyone posts because we don't want to go to sleep
.
-
cant prove it.... -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
I think I'm going to reword that to "obsessing"
. I think I'll leave in another few minutes, no more than ten minutes.
-
so, the vid would air at around 6am Sydney Time right?
-
btw, Michaelsdo1, hows the razer lachesis? is it comfortable to use? hows the grip?
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
The Lachesis is great. The grip isn't perfect, but it works pretty well. I think it's comfortable to use. The bigger your hands, the better grip and the more comfortable it'll be to use. I'd say that I have average hands, so the grip is sort of in between most of the time. I sort of regret getting it sometimes, but other times I think it's a better choice over the other mice out there. You really have to try it yourself for a while to get used to it before making any decisions.
-
ok all....shift chg here...see yas laterz...
hate to go but have to...lol
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Same here. I just hope that I'm up for 3 PM
...
After I post this, this time I'll actually be off.
