Can you please shrink the image in your post. Its much to large and is causing scrolling issues

    Thanks
    Kamin_Majere

On the topic. I like it. I'll have to try to make one of the alienheads green... that would be sweet!

    Ah, Rainmeter skins
    I'm using 2
One is Hud Vision: Rainmeter Skins - HUD.Vision v2.2 by mepu - Customize.org
second is Tech but don't remember where I got it from so I uploaded it to rapid:
EDIT: If u downloaded plz re download the last one was missing a few files like font
EDIT#2: found the original post of Tech skin
    http://crucafix.deviantart.com/art/FlyAway-for-rainmeter-150654754

Installing skins is very easy, just unzip to rainmeter skins folder witch is by dealt located in C:\Users\bob\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins

Btw guys if you get thermal temps to display properly let me know.

I have been using this for a while, but do not have many more Alienware orb options than what the OP posted. Here is my Alienware orb collection (grabbed from various places on the web... most probably from deviantART), ready to add to the W7SBC folder & enjoy. I prefer the multi-color one for a less subtle change between standard, hover & click.

EDIT: Got it to work. However, when the icon is in transition, there is a black box that surrounds the back of the icon. Any idea why?

Transition? When u put your mouse over it? What alien head did you use? Try restoring it and retrying, make sure the the one your using has all 3 states (3 alien heads on the picture).

Thanks, Bob, for all the links and info. Only question I have, is the program requires the images to be BMP (unless I am missing something here), and after converting the PNGs and JPGs posted in this thread, to BMPs, I just get a black start button, with nothing showing. The button still works, but basically has disappeared to a black square. Any suggestions on how to resolve this? Do the BMPs need to be a certain resolution, or 32 or 16 bit color? Thanks a lot for all the info!

Did you try the ones in my link? They are already converted to 32bit bmp & have worked fine for me.

Yeah, when you click on the link, on the photobucket page, and select download, the files are JPGs. Not sure if Photobucket automatically converts the images, when posting them, but those images are not BMPs that I can see. You can see that as well, when you check the direct link option as well.

as in it's like a little flash of black behind the icon when the icon is morphing. I downloaded his pngs and converted them to bmp. could that have caused the problem?

The program I download from your link, only gives me an option for BMPs, and does not see any other files in the directory, including the PNGs you posted. The drop down, for the file type, only has a BMP option as well.

I did not notice that it autoconverted them to jpg after they were uploaded. Sorry for the confusion.

If it will allow me, I am uploading a zip file of just the alienware orb bmp images that are in that link.

UPDATE: Ok. It worked. There are 14 bmp images in that zip file that work with the Windows 7 Start Button Changer program.

Settings are a pain with rainmeter, what kind of settings do you have in mind?
Stuff like font, size, and stuff that has to do with skin?

Well, I have a few themes uploaded. All are in six colors - red, blue, green, yellow, violet and orange. I have another couple but I cannot post them as I have maxed my uploads it seems.

Only reason I am double-posting is to put in the two other ones that I have - a nice black one and a pretty silver one.

Anyone else still getting faded alienheads? Update...I only get the faded look on battery. What setting keeps the taskbar and what not dark? I tried disabling Go Dark.
