For some of you, this might be obvious. For the rest - now there's an easy and relatively simple way to get your games to flash when things happen. It's not ideal but with a little tweaking it can be quite cool!!
It's based around the winamp ALIENFX vis plugin located here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/419484-alienfx-pidgin-winamp-plugin.html
Since you can configure different parts of the lighting setup to react to different frequencies, you can customise the lights you want, in the colours you want to react to specific sounds in the game. To an extent.
It's very simple once you have the Winamp plugin installed and working (please discuss issues with the vis plugin on that thread not this one!)
Using winamp - CTRL + L (or File->Play URL) then type linein://
You can set your default recording device to Rec Playback (best option) or just use the default Microphone in which works also, although not as wellTo improve response and performance if using the Microphone, try disabling Echo Cancellation and use the more aggressive Beam forming mode.
There are sensitivity and frequency settings galore in the winamp plugin, so if you really like the effect you can take it quite far!
Personally I thought it was way cooler that the in-built LightFX in the games which is usually pretty lame.
EDIT: Another cool side-effect of this plugin is to make your machine look like it's talking with lights - like Dr Theopolis from Buck Rogers!!! Or any seventies sci-fi for that matterReally fun with the microphone

http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/499768-m15x-fsb-overclocking-not-only-920xm.html
Now my cpu runs with all cores at 2GHz (instead of 1.6) and maxes out at 3.2ish instead of 2.8ish.. My RAM went from 14GB/s to 15.5GB/s (1450MHz)..
All hail the mighty abo-san for making SetFSB -
