ok So I tried windows 7 on my m17x and after the upgrade install my Alienrespawn Option was missing from the bootup process, my EISA Partition is still there as well as all the files but I can't get the option to come up I was hoping someone could take a look at their their MSconfig and check to see what is there since all mine has now is Windows and I know there was a bit extra there before to start the Restore option

well what do you expect? the respawn partition will only work with the OS you ordered the laptop with - presumably vista x86 or x64.

Whizzo it appears that you have no knowledge of how an EISA partition works, it is a self installing ghost image that doesn't have an OS limitation, this issue is related to windows 7 overwritting the boot and not keeping the additional commands, unlike my previous install of OSX and Ubuntu, secondly I beta test software on a daily basis and made sure to check that the Windows 7 install wouldn't do this before hand the fact that it did was a glitch in the install process no fault of my own

Snowm0bile, sadly my Alienrespawn is an EISA partition if it was the CD Respawn it would start up like a windows install disk and once it sees the EISA Respawn Recovery Partition it will automatically repair and give options to restore the EISA boot option or Restore Windows using either CD or Hard Disk if it Fails to find the EISA PArtition it will give options to Restore the Windows or Restore the entire Hard disk including the EISA partition... sadly I didn't request the DVD version as I felt it was unneeded due to the fact the Boot option is rarely overwritten that is my mistake
