Ok, when I boot the comp, and it comes to the windows login screen, I get this:

    AlienSense is starting up...
    One moment please...

    But it does nothing.
maybe them and I have to different ideas of moments, maybe they mean a space moment?

and sorry for all the different posts with questions, but don't worry, 'm sure there will be more.

My problem with Aliensense is that it take a long time to load, most especially upon startup of the computer. It was fun at first, but I eventually disabled it because it really slowed down the startup of the computer.

No such problem with my laptop. Booting up, and login via aliensense all takes under 1.5 mins. Using 2 gigs BTW

Cant you delete the existing user identity through aliensense, then logging off and back in, That will start the process again I think. Best of luck with that

also, when I go to command center>AlienSense>Advanced mode, under user database, it has nothing there, no users listed. Could that be my problem? And if so, how do I add me there?

It does it automatically. It takes a few restarts before it can fully recognize your face but once it does, it logs you in pretty fast. If anything, you can always disable it.

Check to see if the application requires a password, and whether your account has a password. Match both these, and restart the laptop.

Most people just call the Roswell Crew here as they know a LOT more and are a lot easier to deal with in my opinion.

    Maybe you have to wait?
Sometimes you have to wait 5 minutes, sometimes less.
It's ALWAYS faster to use the finger print or type.

The took of the new version of command center
so the one you just downloaded will probably be the old one

    I got everything to works,
    without any error message
maybe I am the lucky one
it just that it takes like 30 seconds to get the camera ready on startup

Well good, I got it all figured out, +rep for Alienware. :) They actually let me download the newest command center and that fixed my problem. But than they deleted the new command center file, I guess so that I couldn't give it away to other people. Mothership doesn't know that I'm an IT guy, and my school emphasizing in forensics. ;)

I don't know if it would work for m17, I've got an m15x, so it might be specfic to my system, I would like to know if it runs in a 64 bit enviroment tho.

I fairly sure the Alienware Command Center is not system specific.

I think it is Oceanus, seeing that the m17 does not have AlienFX in its version of Command Center.

    no alienFX? :(

Wait, are you telling me that when someone gets the m17 with illumination, they can't change the colors?

I believe that only the keyboard color can be changed, and it's not changed through Command Center Mystik. If I remember it right, one of the touch controls changes keyboard color, not 100% sure on that.

The difference between that and the AlienFX that comes with the m15x and the m17x is that AlienFX can change the colors of the other areas of the laptop as well.

Well, I'm thinking it might be able to recognize what kind of system it is and install accordingly. Installing the Command Center works with both the m17x and the m15x-- but if you've ever noticed, if you install the Command Center on XP, it leaves out the main AlienFusion part of the application. It might be the same for the M17 as well, but instead of leaving out AlienFusion, it leaves out AlienFX.

That's why if there were two different versions of the Command Center, you would be able to change the colors of the lighting in the M17 instead of not getting the option to change the color at all. It leaves out AlienFX entirely.

Not 100% sure on this one but this is my guess for now.
