Ok, so I tried to install Windows 7, but due to driver issues I have gone back to Vista with the disc that shipped with my M17x.
Anyways, every driver seemed to be installed fine, except I notice my keyboard or keypad isn't lit up. I fire up command center and notice those aren't even options anymore, when they were previously.
I installed command center from the disc that shipped with the system that included all of the drivers. I notice is says "AlienFX Basic" and I am not sure if this is the issue or not.
Anyways, I tried to log into my Hive account, but can't because they didn't ship me the little card in the manual stating my account number and such![]()
I'm at a loss, what should I do. Am I doing something wrong? I just want my keyboard and number pad to light up.
Also, I noticed AlienSense was not installed when installing the command center either.
Please advise, thanks guys!

Tried the AlienWare Command Center FX Tester and it displayed the lights on the keyboard fine.
Anyone have any idea whats up? -
First of all, i would like to begin by stating that command center is not fully compatible with windows 7. I have created a thread for this entitled "M17X and Windows 7 (What to expect). Alien sense and alien fusion are not compatible with windows 7. Theres currently no fix.

@GabeZ: he rolled back to Vista
@invinceable: CC is such a pain and they have a particular order to be installed and no guarantee that it will still work. You may try www.vikasverma.com/AuroraLightsFX to see if that works for you.
On a side note try to create a new theme from within CC and see if that has any effect -
Did you follow the procedures outlined here for installing your drivers etc?

The bottom link is the Command Center application download.
Also on the M17, the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 needs to be installed first, not sure about the M17x, but you might try that as well. -
i second findvikas's programs
they are amazing and don't screw up cuz he is the bomb
-
Or if you wanna be the test guinea pig for findvika's program on the M17x (written for m17x and m15x) works too
-
I suspect you'll have to try findvikas program. Windows 7 doesnt require .net framework 3.5. Command center is simply not fully compatible.

@GabeZ AGAIN: the OP states he converted BACK to Vista. Hes not running Windows 7.

I understand Marvie. It was after you're follow up post that I assumed he was trying to get it fully working again. No worries as I'm sure we'll be seeing some updates on this very soon.

I just went through this with my wife's MX15. We had to do the following to get everything working:
1. Changed the Alienware Fusion service from automatic start to manual (and then stopped it)
2. Install a Windows 7 driver for the GeForce from NVidia.com (none of the FX functionality was working before we did that)
All the FX functionality worked after that.
AlienWare FX From command center not functioning correctly?
