so im testing out windows 7 and i installed the Alienware Commmand Center. one of the programs used by that Alienfusioncontroller.exe is using too much memory for no reason it starts at 1 Mb of ram but then over time it starts shooting up to 800mb. i dont know whats the problem but hopefully alienware will fix that when windows 7 is released.

i think findvikas experienced something similar with 64bit vista. he posted a thread a few weeks ago. you might find a solution there.

I kept a secret... as I did not wanted to start the discussion that I was on Win7 :)

It is specific to Win7 x64 release... I have not faced it on Vista x64. The reason is unknown to me at this point but only solution I have for NOW is to not use Command Center. It will cause over heating as well.

I have completely uninstalled CC as I do not prefer to uninstall Win7

hmm... that might be the reason why no one else experienced this? :D

Only one process is making that problem. If you kill it, automaticaly restart by the Alienware service. Just rename this program fix the problem without need to uninstall all Alienware.

Rename "C:\Program Files\Alienware\Command Center\AlienFusionController.exe" for anything else (like AlienFusionController.bug" and just restart (or kill the process if you know how)

That maybe why Alienware told me they will not support me on Window7 because I buy before June 2009...

Why are you renaming the service? Why not just stop the service and change it to 'disabled'?

Had the same issue a few weeks after I upgraded to Win 7. Never figured a solution but killing it by Task Manager. Recently did a fresh install of Win 7 and no sign of the problem since. Knock on wood.
