Hi guys, i am new here and my english its not very good but i will try to explain my problem the way more better.

i Have an Alienware 15 r3 my Specs are this:

    Intel Core i7 6700HQ
    16 GB DDR4 2400 MHZ
    Nvidia gtx 1060 6GB
    ssd 128 gb
    HDD 1 TB

i have a great problem with my CPU temps its always in 95-100 °c and its a nightmare for me because i already changue the thermic paste ( i used an Artic Silver ) but it was just a little time solution, and again i have that temps .

So , please, i want to know what can i DO? i mean, this laptop is amazing but i always have low FPS because that thermal throttling, i must buy a cooler for my laptop? which one? or it exist another solution?

PD: i already have done UNDERVOLT with the Intel Extreme Tuning

i will aprecciate ur help and comments.

    Thanks

Did you use Arctic Silver 5? I'd avoid that because I find it spreads out too thinly for laptop heat sinks. Thicker pastes like Kryonaut, IC Diamond, MX-4 etc work better. I also usually apply more paste than is recommended to make sure the gap is being sealed properly (it won't hurt anything as long as the paste is non-conductive and non-capacitive). If you have undervolted it too there isn't much more you can do. Alienware's cooling solution on that laptop is far from adequate, but 95-100 seems a bit high.

believe me its too high , its so unfair me that a 1500 usd + laptop has that thermal problem, and yeah i used that artic silver and i put more paste that recomended, in that way , now CPU voltage is normal i havent wanted to do undertvolt again until find a solution for this thing, arrrrbol a cooler for a laptop its not a solution?

I also want to try 15R3, I also worried the heatsink problem, recently, I found a smart laptop cooler for Alienware, maybe it can help you:

I would reseat it with different thicker thermal paste and get a enhanced laptop cooling pad its right around 25-30 and dropped my running temps by 30C

I don't think you should thicken the application of your thermal paste. If anything, it should be evenly spread out on the GPU. Try using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I got my 15 R3 to around 40~45°C idle (CPU/GPU). CPU core temp differential will always be an issue unless you got really lucky, or you worked on the heatsink/other mods.

Might I suggest something? Return the laptop, and try to buy a desktop or from another laptop reseller (Clevo/Sager come to mind).
