Is anyone able to provide information regarding the visual difference of the above two screens?

Will there be much difference at all?

Both run the 980m (Gaming would be set at 1080p for both)
I'm just curious for day to day browsing as well as watching films.

This boils down to screen size you want / need. they are both amazing machines, imo. I have the 15 r2, with the touch screen at 4k, it's quite nice. I do wish it had a matte display, but the matte display on those panels is only like 200 nits.. i wasn't about to get into that, the 350nits isn't bright at all on these panels. to answer your questions though, the 4k WILL be much better, much, much better, and the 980M will play plenty of games at 4k :) If you want the matte display, get the 15 ( be note of the lower brightness on them ), if you want glossy, and 4k, get the 17, it's much nicer.
