    Is Alienware Intel exclusive? do you know if msi could make also a version of Alienware 15/17 with a cpu 8-core AMD Ryzen R7? this new desktop cpu with a tdp of 65w could be a great choise for a great laptop imho

    TDP is not to be taken literally.


    Also with Ryzen you would have to scale up the laptop quite a bit. I don't think that's what Alienware / Dell wants since they embraced the way of BGAbooks that are thin and powerless.



    The best chance of Ryzen coming into a laptop form factor is with Clevo, or you can wait for their mobile SKUs which might be better or worse than Intel's current BGA offerings.

    This; Ryzen 7 is not really a gaming CPU, it may have a mobile workstation version later (dell precision *maybe*)

    Ryzen 5 would be a better fit
