Apparently they're giving away a new system they haven't even started selling yet. So, yay!![]()

As a moderator of Alienware Arena, don't just make an account for the contest. Be engaged with the community after making an account!
And I'm not artistic enough to participate in the contest, so I wonder what could come of it.Mr. Fox likes this. -
This better mean they plan to give us hats and t-shirts with our Alienware systems again.

That's pretty good. I like the slogan the most. I'm not a fan of the colors of the words. But other than that, it looks great.

So I've been working on my design for the contest and this is one of the ones I have so far. What do you guys think?

That looks nice. Would make a cool wallpaper, too. Do you have it in a 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 version that could be shared?
Good luck in the contest. -
Thanks! Once I get back to my computer I'll upload a bigger file. In your opinion, do you think this looks too much like what's already on the market? I figured the black background looks too much like what they already have, but I personally am a fan of the black, which is why I made it that way. I just hope they would think it's original enough.
Good luck with the contest as well! -
It's hard to know what the judging panel is going to like. I think it looks really good and it seems original to me.

Why is it that some nut job thinks that original ideas for apparel can only come from within the US & Canada

Tell me about it. Sod off I say. They should let people enter and on the off chance they win let them wear the extra cost for shipping. Not that hard to include everyone, when there's a will there's a way. Just not seeing the 'will' part here.

Seems that some folk think that originality and good design only come from certain geographical areas - morons.
-
There have been ideas to try to have every region get a prize in at least sweeps or giveaway, but it hasn't happened. But Europe does get their own exclusive sweeps/contest (all regions the forum supports have exclusive key giveaways). -

I think someone mentioned earlier, if the winner was overseas or outside of the US/Ca and won, let them have the option of covering their own shipping fees if they DID win.......then everyone's a potential winner. I'm sure it ain't that hard to ship a US machine outside of the US - Dell do it all the timeTBoneSan likes this. -
It isn't much of a prize if you have to pay shipping (not to mention, the rules do state potential taxes to pay). It isn't as easy as "letting someone pay for shipping"; there are laws to obey. If a country makes it hard to allow, then it'll just be s hard to allow said country to participate in the contest. At least take that into account as to way such and such is excluded (because they usually are the reason). -
I'd still consider it a prize if I won something and had to pay for shipping and tax if need be. Yeah, free shipping is better. But if I've won something decent, I'd rather have to option to claim my prize somehow than someone assume I'd rather nothing/not participate because of a comparatively small shipping fee . Excluding members is not exactly a nice way to bring the community together
It's obviously convenient to make a blanket rule by excluding all other countries to avoid possible complications, but I find it hard to believe they're incapable of delivering. It simply looks like a case of CBA (can't be a$$ed) for non-US members no matter which way you slice it. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... Especially since we're talking about an International company that makes it's products available for purchase in multiple countries worldwide...weak sauce.RS4 and steviejones133 like this. -
Voting is open.
A lot less entries than expected. The last time some design contest happened, it took two pages of entries (2nd not full, of course). -
I'm not good at Photoshop. Otherwise, I'd have submitted something.
Wish everyone the best of luck. If you win an Area-51, please do some benchmarking and post a good review about everything. -
Those in Europe* want an Area 51, guess what? A scavenger hunt! First place is an Area 51, and 2nd through 11 get 2 games from AMD.
