I am been following these forums for sometime now and have been a off and on Alienware using since 1998, to be honest i have had no problems with Alienware at all in my time purchasing from Alienware direct USA, i think the level of service you receive in the USA is far superior to anything we see in Australia, even though i used to build my own systems for years i find it much easier to buy direct from a supplier i have owned Falcon Northwest, and Voodoo systems before HP got hold of them and my last foray at building was the ABit VP-6 if i recall the first dual cpu motherboard sold around 2001 i think that was

Anyway i would agree with a couple of posters responses about Alienware Australia that there service is a disgrace and downright dis honest, i purchased a M17 double the USA price and that wes when the Australian dollar was trading at 96 us cents, so a 2.6ghz dual core system with dual 3870 cost a cool $8000, i digress anyway my G9x gaming mouse wasnt working returned it for warranty 6 months later still no return after numerous calls.

Since then with Dell Australia now selling the M17x system i have given it another crack and have been pleasently surprised with there service.

To those that have issues with Alienware there is always a right and a wrong way to acheive great customer service.

Eight years ago i returned from working in Dubai with a custom pc i buildt myself it happened to have the greatest cd writer of the time a Plextor unit in it, one week after returning to Australia cd drive starts playing up, i contact Australian agent they refuse warranty because i purchased outside of Australia, i phone Plextor USA direct and one week later a large box arrives from the USA 2 x new drives 2 tshirts 2 x 100 cdr disks (this was big money back then) and best of all Australian agent loses rights to sell plextor drives

Moral of the story If you approach a complaint with sincerity and without fervent hostility you will be taken seriously and more than likely benefit from your bad situation, if you are a flamer and lose your temper you will acheive zero.

Anyway i patiently await my new M17x and should i have any issues im sure Dell with fix it right away.

ON another note is anyone interested in purchasing a second hand 7month old M17 system in great condition
specs can be supplied to anyone interested
what im really after is a swap for a quad core extreme cpu and decent quality ssd, very hard to find in Australia

regards to all and many thanks to the great posters on this site from memory thanks to ewrecked, MR Moo,
