My system. When i play games, the computer randomly freezes, and when it does, after about 5-10sec a black screen comes up, then after about another 5sec, it goes to my desktop then back to my game. It happens VERY frequently. Any solutions?

Try new video drivers. Sounds like the driver is crashing.

You dont have to get moody. I obviously wasn't sure what he meant. And how would i go as to finding a new driver and installing it?

How do i find a new driver and install it without screwing something up? I also tried just updating my driver first and the NVIDIA one that i found on their site didnt work. it was for the right vid card, but some of my games said that they couldnt find a suitable display device.

this is a Area-51 m15x since it has a 9800MGT, the latest driver that you can install with out BSOD, is the 186.81, any newer than that will not work with the Alienware Area 51 m15x.

Sad that the best driver for the m15x is from August, screw you Nvidia, I am going ATI next time.

Alright. I updated to the 186.81 and once i get home from school Ill see if it fixes because my schools network has the game ports blocked. What should i do if i need another update in the future since the new ones don't work with my system?

there isn't much you can do besides find modified drivers. But they usually tend to be a little more buggy,

Really your best sticking with this one
