I just got a used m15x from someone on Ebay. The problem is I didnt get the login details to access the support section of alienware.com and I cant find the Alienware Command Center app anywhere else. Can someone give me a direct link or upload it somwhere please?

Also, I called AW support for it. They said that if you resell any AW unit you loose all the waranty and the right to use the support, then he just hung up on me. Very nice customer support they got

I don't know where to find the app, and I only recently ordered my system, so I can't send it to you.
But I can tell you why I think they were so rude, my guess is because the numbers are free to call, they pay the full costs, which is why they want to make "unwanted" calls short, as it is only costing them money ;-)

I also don't know if the alien command center application can run without the necessary drivers and such =S

Sorry that I couldn't be of help =S

    Greetings,
    Bedeone

Hi larryb and welcome to the forum.
as stated by the phonecall, the warranty is with the original buyer and sadly not with the laptop.
weve seen this happen to others on here before that have been refused help by AW but in a way it does say it in their rules and regulations.

    good luck with your search.

The original owner of the Notebook paid for the 3 year support, that should cover the costs i guess. I sold my XPS M1730 to someone and he called Dell support and got it registered on his name no problem, he even got his keyboard exchanged at home because he was feeling his space bar was kinda unresponsive :D But well, what can you expect from AW.

Larryb, I'm afraid you won't have much luck with the support...
The only thing you might do is to ask the person who sold the laptop to you to give phone and tell them he is moving home and changing address, to change it to your address but to keep the computer in its name.

If not, I'm afraid you won't have many solutions here...

Please keep in mind that warranty is non-transferable. Address and contact information can be updated by the original buyer, however the account name is unable to be changed.

    We apologize for any inconvenience.

Indeed it does... Does that makes it right?

Well, ask the owner to give you his account name and change the adress and contact for yours.

Dell can't do anything to fix AW support. AW still manages it's own facilities and rules. Only AW has to fix it themselves.

Hey, I'm not condoning it or anything, i think it'd be better too if the warranty was transferable.

but technically, there's nothing "wrong" with such a business policy. sure, it's not exactly "playing nice" with customers, but it's not illegal or anything.
