Once your above Phase 4, sit back and relax, do not rush and call Alienware and complain. That is my opinion.
I sat on Phase 8 for 4 days, so far my M15X is working great with no mechanical problems.
Phase 8 is a quality control Phase, the longer it is there the better the quality should be in my opinion because they are finding problems and fixing them.
Phase 1-4 is the pain in the a ss phases, Alienware needs to work the bugs out of those stages so it moves along faster, in my opinion. Because I am sure everyone of you here would not mind the wait for the build and quality as long as it is a beatiful rig that functions as it should in the end?
Phase 9, is the Order Shipped Stage. I know alot of companies only ship on one day, I ASSume this is for convenience for the shipping department. But Like most carriers I would also ASSume FedEx has a drop and hook for a trailer at Alienware and they leave a trailer there all week as Alienware loads the trailer for shipping. Once the trailer is full FedEx will come on Thursday I am thinking and swap an empty trailer for the loaded one and then Alienware releases the tracking numbers online and we all see Phase 9 and the FedEx number becomes "Active" online. Sometimes we may get the number earlier but not see activity on Fedex. Again I ASSume this is to make the buyer happy they see a tracking number? The shipping delay is happening because they are not selling alot of systems, which I doubt, or the carrier is being stubborn and not arriving EVERY DAY to swap a trailer? This is only my theory, but I have been near the shipping industry for years and it seems to fit the "mold". Alienware should be able to send out a small trailer/truck everyday since they are near a big airport. So Alienware in my opinion should check into this and see if Phase 9 needs "repair" ,,,,,again this is my opinion only.
So for a quick summary of MY thoughts of the Phases,
Phase 1-4 need "repair"
Phase 5-8 seems ok as long as the quality is there
Phase 9 MAY need "repair"
Thanks for letting me take up 2 minutes of your time reading my thread that you will never get back![]()

sorry JK but i think you will find that:
Phase 1-4 need "repair"
Phase 5-8 needs repair"
Phase 9 need "repair"
i hold the world record for being in phase 5 for 24 days (yey go me)
and my computer was still buggered when i got it.
for anyone new awaiting any computer from AW i have this message for you:
DONT BELIEVE THE PHASE GAME/PAGE (this was even confirmed by TS & CS) -
The M15X was made fast. Then shown Problems. They have to understand the problems and had to slow down.

@JK - The quality control in AW laptops is non existent. There are some problems that would have been SO obvious to even someone who just looked at it. For example, paint that is not right on the touchpad as well as other issues which are cosmetic that could have been found with an hour of searching such as hairline cracks on the chassis.

I don't care what the condition is of my m17x order so long as they don't delay it any further than what it is at now. (roughtly 90 days estimated between order and reciept of the machine is the current estimate assuming nothing ELSE goes wrong.)
Alienware Computer, Phase this.
