So I got my m15x system back today from Alieware and I have some compaints. First off the packaging was terrible. The computer was just in the box not in those black styrofoam packing things ( dont know what to call them ).
The hinge was fixed yet the new one creaks just like the old one.
They scratched my name plate pretty bad ( not a huge deal but still sucks. )
They didnt upgrade my HardDrive like they told me they would and that makes it hard to believe they fixed my GPU/CPU/Motherboard problem.
All in all im pretty pissed and just blowing off steam.
I plan to upgrade the HD myself now since Alienware cant seem to do it.
I believe it was Whizzo who told me how to do it ( have to look for that thread ).
    Anyone else having similar problems?

eBay it and get something else. These types of bad experiences tend to swell over time.

Wasn't it your plan to sell it anyway? I remember you had a thread for a very long time figuring out how much to sell it for.

Although I sympathize for your your misfortune, we have been hearing about your laptop problems and you dissatisfaction with A.W. for a while now.

Perhaps selling it and moving on would be the best thing to do now.

It's unfortunate that this has happened. The black support foam never did fit quite right, and I believe the system sat rather loosely to begin with. The name plate is really easy to fix. Just have them custom make another one and send it out. If my memory serves correctly, you have 15 days to inspect the system for quality following a repair. The hinges for that model have always creaked (unless it's a different type). If everything seems in order other than the name plate, I would just resolve the plate and purchase a new hard drive locally.

Yeah, since Dell bought it and is now selling the M17x direct, 30 or so more countries now have access to AW for their very own gaming enjoyment!

    a bit true...

but to be fair, he also is asking if anyone else had this issue, not about how the AW brand has been since the dell acquisition.

Unlike Luke's trenchant remark, the OP provided information to substantiate his claims.

Remember, if all we do is sugar coat everything AW how will improvements every be made? Besides, getting the bad along with the good--of any product--only makes this website a more reliable source, and all of us better educated consumers.
