tl;dr: Is there a way to set up Alienware FX to change colors based on a notification from an application instead of just when in the application itself?

I recently got an Alienware M15X, and I love it. I've never been able to play some of my favorite games with any graphics capabilities at all, and it's so beautiful to be able to play them with full settings, but gaming isn't all I use my laptop for. I also do a lot of social networking, and I'm using Pidgin instant messenger client (it shouldn't really matter which program, should it?) and as I play full screen games, I want to be able to know when someone messages me. Is there any way to configure Alienware FX to do that for me? I know how to change the scheme based on the application you're using, but is there one that changes as notifications appear?

    Thanks in advance!
