The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.
Alienware offers high-performance systems for gamers and enthusiasts. As with other forums on NBR, you will find a dedicated and knowledgeable community of Alienware owners here! We enjoy pushing the envelope with our systems and you will come across plenty of performance tips and helpful advice here. If you have an issue with your system, do ask questions! We probably have an answer!
The Alienware forum is divided into a main Alienware discussion area and model specific subforums.
When creating a new thread, if it is model specific, please post to the model subforum.
Only general Alienware discussion items should be posted to the main forum.
Special Note to Alienware Legacy system owners - we have a subforum for you as well! Please be sure when posting that you are not posting in the Dell/AW model specific subforum. Thanks to AW, their naming convention for the Dell/AW side can be confusing to new owners. Its important that all Legacy AW posts be made in the
Legacy subforum. "Legacy" systems pertain to the systems produced by AW prior to the Dell acquisition. Be aware that the Command Center application for the current Dell/AW line will NOT work with a legacy system. DO NOT attempt to install it.
NBR General Information:
As with all areas of the NBR forums, please take a moment and review the forum rules as they are strictly enforced. Be sure to review!
*Important* While browsing over the Alienware Forums here on NBR, you will come across threads which discuss System BIOS and VBIOS mods. BIOS Modifications, VBIOS Modifications and other system level tweaks can potentially cause damage to your system. Be aware of this before blindly flashing. If you brick your system or cause damage, chances are very high that your warranty will be useless. Know what you are doing, you are responsible for your actions.
This comes up quite often - many new members will post asking which drivers to install, what the latest drivers are, where to download, etc. Unfortunately, maintaining a thread of current drivers is quite a bit of work. As an alternative, these links will take you to the Dell Support page for each specific model. The most current drivers can be accessed right there. When in doubt, use the NBR forum search function to locate information on a specific item.
The MOD team will be removing all signatures which do not comply with the Signature Size Limits as posted within the forum rules. If your signature line is outside these limits, please take a moment and fix it.
Removals begin 3/13- fix it now before its removed.
Thanks.
EDIT: the Mod Team is still finding many signatures outside of the forum rules signature size limits. If your signature is removed by a forum mod, it will be replaced with the URL to this post. Be sure to fix your signature before its removed.
