I know this web page is dedicated to notebooks but I figure someone here must have an Alienware desktop too. I have ran out of places to ask.

I recently installed Windows 7 on my AREA 51 P2-CHASSIS DESKTOP, and to my surprise there was no lighting on whatsoever. I have searched high and low for a Windows 7 version of the lighting on Dell's website but it doesn't seem to exist.

Where can I find it? Does it not exist? Does Dell not care about the people who (not more than 3 years ago) dished them over $5000?

I'm sorry if this is not on topic, but I'm desperate.

Hi, the problem is that you are having an Alienware product which was sold before the Dell merger.

I never bought an Alienware desktop as they always seemed to be way overpriced to me. But I can give you the following advice. Have you checked myHive or tried the latest Command centre from Dell's website? Have you tried installing the Vista CC in compatibility mode?

you can also try AuroraLightsFX, its a program made by one of the forum members, which enables you to change the light settings. Unfortunately, you will have to compile it yourself. I know that it does work with a desktop unit, but I dont know which

Finally, the last way would be to create a special program just for the desktop. This step is much more involving and should only be taken as a last resort.
