Another method is to use Tweaks.com Logon Changer. Can use any jpg image as the background image, and the utility will automatically resize it to work if necessary. Very easy, with a test option before finalizing. Always provides for reverting to Win 7 default if desired. Tweaks.com Logon Changer for Microsoft Windows 7. Scroll down to near bottom of page and use the Cnet link to avoid the link spam scattered around the page.

Where can I get the Alienware background images as jpgs to use on a MacBook?
-
Can someone reupload these? The ones in the OP are only 800x450? (Unless I'm stupid and missing something obvious)
-
nope, i just checked and it seems that imageshack has crapped out on the files. i'll get it reupload asap.
*Edited all reuploaded, enjoy! -
Thanks for the reupload!

Hello Hel20eS, I saw your pictures are pretty bad quality, so I tempted to do it myself. As I tried I found out the problem is not the compression, since I tried to use photoshop hue/saturation and it ended up similar to yours. So I thought it could be related to the RGB colours interfering with changing to another. So I converted the mode to use black and white mode, then back to RGB (not still grey), then finally use colour balance to achieve the colour I want, and it end up almost identical to the original.

wow that's awesome! sure looks better than mine. do you mind converting for other colours that are listed for the first post? i didn't have photoshop installed, so my ability is limited.

Maybe when I have the time. Should I do it myself the screens, but they're designed with 1920x1080/1200 though. Maybe I can convert sizes.

Hello, Prayogasp, this should work on the M11x.
You might have to lower the resolution down to the M11x' screen maximum resolution.
Regarding the .reg file you just need to double click it. -
Awesome.Thanks.+rep

So I found something odd.... I used my x51 win7 disc last night to reinstall onto one of the computers. It had all the log in screen and wallpapers already built into win7. So, no need to go about manually installing all that stuff.
Is alienware now sending out custom win7 builds that are already skinned for alienware? -
They do, experienced this during the time I had the AW '17r3

Then create it.
Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Authentication > LogonUI > Background.
After selecting background, right click in the right window and choose New > DWORD (32bit). Rename it to OEMBackground and change its value to 1. -
