Alienware Logo Bindi Dot?

I woke up one morning and realized my Alienhead developed a Bindi ... what the hell is with that! bah!

 

haha sorry to laugh but that's sorta funny... your laptop musta discovered religion...

joking aside, probably a paint "defect" on the alien head. if you want it fixed, you'll have to ship it back to AW...

or just take a silver/grew marker and cover up the mark

haha yeahhh, it's annoying. bah, oh well. i'm not sending it to Alienware. It'll most likely be shipped back with some scotch tape over it.

 

what does it look like without the light on?

 

Just a scratched circle without backlighting. It looks a little worn away though, like I didn't hit it on anything to chip it.

 

It's your Alienhead morphing out it's third eye.

AW probably could tell you where you can go to get some paint to cover that up. Or you could go to a paint store and get one of those markers you have to shake up to get the paint out to cover it up. Should be an easy fix.

 

I'm assuming anything I "paint over" it will look like I "painted over" it dont you think? lol. It'd look even worse if it looked covered up.

I like how it's kind of evenly aligned. If I were to get a scratch on my Alien power button, I'd want something like that.

A touch of red for the bindi dot. You COULD make it somewhat a different color if you painted a different color over it.

Well, if it's going to happen anyway, you'd at least want the amputation to look nice, right? I think I'd prefer a straight cut over the angled cut.

 

Whoa, you mean this isn't a common issue? My m9700 AND my Orion backpack have also seemed to have discovered religion over time. The backpack I can understand, as I treat it slightly better than an abused stepchild (it rarely has a laptop in it of course), but the m9700 never left the desk I set it on after opening it. I babied that thing the entire time I owned it, cleaned the vents, covered it with a cloth at night, only turned it on to actively use it, gently caressed it with a diaper, etc, and the dot still appeared after about six months.

Freakin' weird. I always figured it was just some defect in the plastic or something...

wow lol that is quite funny. i dont think anyone would bother to send it back to aw to repaint something like that. i would just go buy my own paint and paint it back

Yes, I would too. I cringe at sending any NB back to any company for a fix. I definitely wouldn't let it bother you. It just means your AW is extra special.
