Alienware M15x Shipped Today!

Just letting you guy's know my m15x shipped today! I tried telling my girlfriend, but she basically said "What's that again?" So I kinda feel like you are the only people who would actually know what I'm talking about when I'M THIS EXCITED! hahah Can't wait to get FULL REVIEW for you all see!

BTW what does rep power mean/do? I know that if someone is helpful you give them a rep power. I've done that. But what is it's significance?

My new replacement system should be shipping any day now. I am really curious to see how the build quality has improved from the machine I got whenthey first came out. I will post my experiences once it arrives.

Haha good observation Mr. Moo.. I am still fired up at them considering I have owned this M15x for 1 year now but they have had it in their possession for a little over 4 months of that 1 year doing repairs. The last time I sent it in, it was taking forever for parts that they finally decided to rebuild me a new system. Then they tried to offer me a system with less than what I originally had. Finally we agreed to a build that would be very close to what I had with a couple minor upgrades. I have no choice to try and be enthusiastic at this point and hope that they have solved all the problems that caused me to send my first laptop in.

To be honest, if I can sell this new unit on Craigslist once it arrives for a decent price, I will buy myself a 17" unibody MacBook Pro. Photography is a big hobby of mine and that laptop rocks when you consider it weighs about 6 pounds and is so thin and solidly built - perfect for all the travel I do.

But I am really curious to see if the new laptop I get has improved in any way from the original. To see if my horrible experiences were just a one shot bad luck thing... Here's hoping.

1. How long you have stayed on these forums (This is the easiest and main one. Notice how WHizzo has more "Power" than me but I have more Rep Points, which is a much better way to measure rep)
2. How many 1000s of posts you have.
3. How many 1000s of rep points you have.

Congrats on the system, Firecat. When I had the m15x for testing, I loved using it. It's one of the most 'defined' notebooks - as in, different and unique in a good way - that I have tested in a long time.

I'm going to have to nix that, Duane . . . rep hasn't helped me much in that aspect of life.

 

Thanks chaz! It arrives tomorrow (Friday). I already picked up a neoprene case, as well as the Wegner Swiss INSIGHT computer case. Oh and a microsoft arc mouse as well. P.S. After a couple of days using the ARC mouse I am in love. This is seriously one sweet mouse! Look for pics of the M15x tomorrow. I work from 7:00p.m. - 4:00a.m. (Bartender Hours Suck! HAHA) so I might just post them when I wake up around noon on saturday!
