ok, so I browsed this forum while considering the purchase of my new laptop, and now that I have a question, I feel you are the people to answer it.

Does anything actually fit into the coaxial port? I want to plug something into it, but no cord, plug, or adapter I have looked at fits. The opening around the coaxial is just too small.

I'd assume a coax cable would fit..one similar to the one in the back of your TV? Never tried tho, and have wondered the same myself. Im assuming it's an output for video.

none of the coaxial cables I have tried fit. Also, I was under the impression the coax was for input.

judging from the pictures, i would assume it is for tv in. however, it doesnt appear to be one of those heft screw-type coax that you find on the back of your tv and whatnot. I'd assume there's a compact cable that would fit it somewhere.

Ok, finally found a cord that will plug into it. Had to get the samllest push-in coaxial thing I could find and it just barely fit.

Completely new question. I thought that either Windows Media Player or Movie Maker would be able to use the input, but so far I can't find anything to actually show the video I am inputting. Anyone know a program that will do this?

Did you buy the tv tuner?
If you didn't, then it won't work. I think.

I did not buy the tv tuner, but I'm not trying to input TV. I'm actually trying to input from an N64. (kinda stupid i know)

The coaxial is there, so I have to assume it does something, it should be able to accept a single signal i would think. I was recommended VirtualDub as a program from somewhere else, but there is no device listed. Maybe I am screwed.

Most likely that coaxial is not connected if you didn't buy tv-tuner.

...or it could be an output..didn't I mention that before? ;)

PS - Could be WAY wrong. But, that it would make me look smart if I were right. :D

It is indeed a video input and as was stated, unless you bought the tv tuner, it is just simply a hole in the case that is not connected to anything. I opted to not get the tuner either and am kicking myself for it.
