Hi there everyone. Have been reading these forums for several weeks now and am willing to commit to buying a Alienware M17. I will mainly be using it to play games that are fairly graphic intensive. Aswell as a bit of video editing.
But I am unsure about what spec will give me the best performance for my budget....
My budget is around £1500 ($2100 ish for you Americans)
So basically, I'm asking you what way I should customise the M17 in order to get the best possible performance out of my budget.

Then link me your configurations
Thanks![]()

i agree
t9400
dual 3870's
2 gigs of ram
160 gb hd
1440 screen(if you cant afford 1900)
it will play games i promise -
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
I agree with the setup that Mr. Moo has proposed, however, don't settle for the 1440x900 LCD. The 1920x1200 will only put you $50 over budget, and is well worth it. Remember that more RAM and better HDDs can be purchased elsewhere, and it won't void your warranty to install them yourself.
By the way, congratulations on your decision.
Welcome to the fold. -
Budgets get broken everyday... I agree on the 1920x1200

I picked up the low end CPU but went with dual gpus and 3 gigs of ram along with the high end screen. Highly recommended!

I understand the need to replace the HD and Ram (Have done this a number of times on my desktop)
But what are the benefits of going with the higher resolution of screen? -
.. may be^^ it looks better
