    Alienware M17X Multitouch touch pad??

    Does the M17X come with multitouch? Like two finger scrolling and 3 finger swipe back? If so were do u get the software?

    wow, I would really love to know if there is anything out there which would make the touch pad as friendly as my mac! anyone?

    Hehe, I tried it on mine, and it does not seem to be multi-touch. That would be cool though....

    It's a gamers laptop. Gamers generally do not use touchpads. Therefore, it'd probably just be wasting money if Dell installed features such as Multitouch, seeming as very few owners of the laptop would actually use it.

    you do make a good point but for a $3000 laptop i would still like to see the multi touch. finger print reader as well.

    no one but apple has multitouch, the made sure by patented it to hell and back

    The M17x is your run of the mill touchpad with pretty bad scrolling built in. Just get a USB mouse - you will be much happier

    Actually, many Synaptics touchpads ARE multitouch, but the feature is restricted in the driver to keep it as a premium feature. There are some hacked drivers around that enable multitouch on some of their newer pads. If you even look in the inf of the current driver, you'll see a lot of entries related to multitouch capability.

    that would be PIMP if I do say so....

    so far I am quite non impressed with the quality of the touchpad, hopefully this is just a driver issue and not a hardware limitation
