I checked it a few weeks ago and it was an option you can select but now the option is unavailable on the Alienware UK site but is still available on the US site. The ad for the M17x still boasts:-

Watch your game come to life on the seamless 17" widescreen LCD display with an extreme HD1200p resolution that leaves no details undefined.

Though that seems to be false advertising now....

It is also like that in belgium, we have the same thing with SSD"s as well but i believe if you wish to order you can call them and they have no choice but to give you a WUXGA screen. I called for the SSD's and they said it was not a problem.

    can't sue them....

*Offers subject to change, not combinable with all other offers. Taxes, shipping, handling and other fees apply. U.S. Dell Home and Home Office new purchases only. Free shipping and handling offer available in Continental (except Alaska) U.S. only. Free shipping offer does not include time to build/test system. From the bottom of the config page for US....guessing there is a line JUST like it on UK site.

Same in Spain. I guess the WUXGA screen is waaay out of stock and they try to avoid too many orders of laptops with this screen... Probably it's going to be available again in a few weeks...

Yep, I ordered mine 2 days ago over the phone and ordering the 1920x1200 was not an issue, just hope it doesn't hold my order up - I got an EDD of 12/8 - can't see that happening though

What would be the reason for getting rid of the WUXGA screen for UK buyers?

The option just came back but they just made it 70 euro's more expensive. Geuss at dell prices go up in stead of down. Is it back in the uk as well?

For sure don't buy an M17X without the 1900x1200 screen resolution. It's such a waste.
