    Hi

I am looking to buy an M17x or an Ibuypower Battalion 101 D900F laptop to replace my current PC, the question is which should I buy and will it be better than my PC considerably?

    My PC specs are
    C2D E6750 @ 2.66
    5gb ram @800
    GTX 275 EVGA

the specs for the M17x are

    Intel® Core™ i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
Dual 1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 4870 in CrossfireX™ (should I go for single?)
    17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)
    4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
    250GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD
    $2,449.0 USD

    the IBUYPOWER laptop is

    Battalion 101 D900F 17" WUXGA 1920X1200 Widescreen LCD TFT
    Intel® Core™ i7 930 Processor (4x 2.8GHz/8MB L3 Cache)
    Mobility DDR3 1GB NVIDIA GTX285 PCI-Express 3D Video
    6GB [2GB x 3] 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
    500 GB 7200rpm
    $2503

Screen quality is a big factor for me, any complains on either ?

Please note I will buy it from Canada but these prices are US store prices and its more of a pain to ship the iBUYPOWER to canada

I play MMO RPG games on a 40" FULL HDTV and found that the highest setting give my PC a problem, upgrading it is easy but I will travel in a month or so and can't take it with me

Well posting this question on the Alienware forum will never get you an objective answer, because the AW owners will always vote in favour of the AW. Maybe placing questions like these in the "What notebook should I get thread" will give you a better (objective) clue/answer?

That sayd, Nice specs for the M17x exactly the same as in my sig :D , although I'm hoping to recieve the one with HD5870 CrossFire.

Your powerful PC is probably equal or slightly better in performance to the x-fire 4870 M17x, and significantly better than the IBUYPOWER single GTX285.

The D900F is NOT worth it. You WILL need a dual GPU laptop to even come close to your desktop.

I'd say get the M11x BUT wait for the 5870 CrossfireX setup to be released. That WILL beat your desktop, and it'll be little extra cost over 4870 CrossfireX, if it even costs anything extra at all. Crossfire 5870s should be released soon.

I would normally say you would be good to go with either but if you say "Screen quality is a big factor for me, any complains on either ?" then get the RGB LED screen.

Not to be right or left of the two computer. I think you need to relook at the cpu of both systems. Then research the gpu of both systems they are both differnt.

Ask question like this how is this setup better then that setup. I think you get a better answer.

Dont name names like this company or that company. You are dealing with hard core Alienware laptop users you will be flamed due to the other company and they will point out little issues. That might or might not be a factor.
