Well I got a good deal on a new FX 770 and figured i'd give it a go in my Alienware M5750. Everything went well, had to dremel the heat pad a little but overall it fit. Well I turned on the laptop and got the dreaded "MXM Structure not found" Aka the 30sec timeout other's have been having when upgrading to say the 9600m. Is there any way to fix this w/o too much work?

I'm willing to take any suggestions. What i'd like to do is start some sort of list with model numbers for mxm laptops and upgrades that worked. If it helps I think the FX770m was for an hp so I don't know if maybe it has something to do with me needing to flash the v-card w/ a reg bios not an hp bios.

i doubt that would work in terms of bios or heat ...considering the 3870 came out a while after that laptop

true, i know the 3650 works in there just fine and I think the original card in there makes more heat than many others haha. But mxm upgrade said they are looking to get some new cards in soon so i'll see what it works on and what it doesn't when they test them.

    Hey,
I wanted to mention i'll probably be selling the Quadro FX 770 that I bought because of the incompatibility with my M5750. The card did work once in windows I just can't stand that 30sec issue though its not the cards fault its the laptop's. Any who these things seem to sell on ebay for like $300 and i'd easily let mine go for 2/3 of that. Just figured i'd post here first if anyone was interested before going to ebay.
