    Hi there guys,
Wondering if you can help me with this one, just received my official copy of Windows 7 Pro and trying to install it on my M9750. For some reason my DVD drive refuses to read the disk i've tried both 32 and 64 bit disks, when i put the disk in it spins for a little while and then the light goes off and Windows explorer says please insert a disk into drive D:....
Thinking I might have got a duff set of disks I tried with my friends copy it couldnt read his either and my disks worked fine in his computer. I've got the Optiarc AD-5540A drive and it reads all other disks i throw at it perfectly.
Anyone have any suggestions? Should I try to get Alienware to replace my drive or do you think they will say theres nothing wrong with it as it reads the other disks?

    Hi simonmpoulton,
First I would try and see if it reads other applications/cds/dvds. If so, you most likely have an issue with your drive firmware. I would check the support section of Alienware's website (most likely My Hive), and see if there's a firmware update available.

    Thanks,
    Gabe
