Got an Alienware M9750 . It has a built-in webcam, but the software that comes with it (BisonCam) only let's me capture videos. I want to take a picture instead.

So what do I need to do so I can take pictures with the webcam? Thanks.

You should have a shortcut created in My computer.
When you open My computer (not explorer), you should see the webcam listed as BisonCam or something. click on it. on the left side of the window, there would be an option to take a pic

the pictres it takes are not good. you need to have a lot of lighting in the picture for it to turn out somewhat decent

I clicked on Start --> Computer, and I do not see BisonCam or anything like that. Am I doing something wrong?

Are you running XP or Vista? This worked in XP, but there seems to be no My Computer Icon in Vista. :(

    My computer in Vista is:

Start- Computer. (Not exactly rocket science)
Just start search for bison cam.

    mjl2142:

Once you load BisonCam, are you able to take a picture?

Because I already tried the obvious--loading the BisonCam software. All it allows me to do is to record .avi videos. There is no option in the software to simply take a picture.
