I was looking here: Alienware M17x Full HD 3D Gaming Laptop Details | Dell

I will probably want to customize it.
I am concerned about the monthly payment scheme.

They write that it can be as low as 45$ a month, but on another page with details about pay-off I saw that the estimated total will be much more expensive.

Can i pay a fixed amount each month or do I add more each month based on a fee/interset? and does it increase with respect to the number of months?

I don't want to end up paying 60% more than its worth.
I can pay ~600$ each month...

    Thank you!

When you apply for the dell credit card, many times they have a "interest free" on purchises over a certian amount.

If you buy when its like that, then you can pay it off before the time limit you will not get hit by fees. Otherwise, the fees that they list is if you make minimum payments.

I Use my dell account to buy, but usually pay it off before the interest hits.

    Thank you!

How do I apply for dell credit card/ use dell account to buy?

thank you, I didn't know they have a fee-free and interset-free time limit, they don't mention it anywhere on the page.

What do you mean "the fees that they list is if you make minimum payments."?

Can I pay more than minimum? will it help reduce fees/interest?

Say you minimum payment is $45, and you have interest free 6 months. If you only pay the $45 per month, you will never pay off the bill in the interest free time. So, when that 7th month pops up, they hit you with 6 months of interest.

Is there a reseller(or however you would call it) that sells Alienware laptops with interest-free and tax-free monthly payments?

    Thanks for the links all!

there are no resellers that give interest free payments. You don't have to pay sales tax with a reseller though.

You're much better off. Because they depreciate so quickly computers are the absolute worst thing to buy on credit because it will never be worth what you owe on it.

The other thing to be careful with: Often sellers like Dell will give you the credit but the interest rate will be some outrageous level like 29.99%. Miss one payment, or be late, or don't pay off your system in the 0% time frame and you are suddenly paying a huge amount for the system.

I'm always amazed when people spend hours trying to get an extra $50 deal on their laptop, then pay 29,99% interest! ;)

I paid off my DFS account balance of $1500 in 3 monthly payments of $500 with no interest accrued. I believe I had 12 months or more of interest free payments if I had so desired. I do not have or believe in having a credit card, nor would I participate in any such service that had an interest requirement. The main reason for my using was it was less of a hassle than having to call the bank to have my debit card limit raised for the purchase.

Thread closed - op decided on another system and question has been answered. If needed, we can look at re-opening however we have a couple of threads here in the main forum on DFS in addition to the main Dell forum.

    Thanks.
