Will the warranty go away if I decide to give it a paintjob at a local mugstore? I'd really like a green AW mug.

    Dear MrDJ,

Thank you for contacting Alienware Support Team.
Currently the only option we offer for the infamous m16oz mug is a right handed version. There is no forcast for a left handed version at this time.
However, to accommodate our overseas customers, we will soon be offering a metric version, the m33cl, which will be out within the next month. Please feel free to contact us when you are interested in purchasing one of these items.
Again, thank you for contacting Alienware Support.

I have updated the information to include the latest queries (",)

Cha - Glad you enjoyed it, your information request has been processed (",)

MrDJ - I cannot blame the mug totally for delaying my order, it was after all an inocent bystander in the whole delay your order process. It is my opinion that to place the whole blame on the poor defencles mugs shoulders (should it actually have any) would be Mug'ist and therefore break the Geneva convention for ceramica related issues 1824.32 (",)

Ryujin - I have contacted my insurance company and they have agreed to guarantee the value of the mug, should anything untowards happen. I will be guaranteed the full replacement cost, which is a load off my mind. I can sleep soundly now knowing that my mug is safe (",)

MrDJ - your information request has been processed (",)

Glad you enjoyed it guys (",)

For ppl in the US and other places, the term Mug here reefers to:

Chiefly British Slang. A victim or dupe.
    and not:

A heavy cylindrical drinking cup usually having a handle.
The amount that such a cup can hold.

    :D

are you getting by with the storage space? me personally, I'd've long since started to consider upgrading the capacity of that thing... :D

EDIT: maybe an external cup for more storage space? transfer speeds would probably be slower, but you'd have oodles and oodles (pardon the pun ;)) of storage space...

Well I have actually experimanted with "small liquid cooling units", when performing a cold benchmark... They performed very well but, are not suitable for notebook use as they seem to shrink and disapate some liquid as a by product...

I've been looking for the Under Side Bolt-on socket so I can add extra storage via a liquid dispensing transfer chanel.... (a straw) (",)

So far experiemts in increasing the storage seem to be suffering from a damp start...... lol

(Typical Sager fanboi): Yeh, but Alienware Mugs are overpriced, your paying for the geeky alienhead there. You can get the Sager mug, it might be 4 pounds and 5in thick, but it doesnt overheat when you pour tea in it! The OCZ Whitemug is also great, and it has backlit handle.

Can you downgrade to XP on this? I cant find the right drivers for the handle...

I'm still disappointed that there isn't a dual or quad core available yet. Due to the inherent limitations of the single-core mug, you are limited to rum and coke or coffee and cream. A multi-core mug would allow users to dedicate one core to each liquid, increasing the efficiency of multi-threaded drinks.

But I think this is essential for future-proofing. More and more drinks are going to come out that are optimized for multi-core mugs, and they will take a huge performance hit on single-core systems.

Ah, but, if you have multi-threaded drinks and you develop a leak, you'll loose your bandwith... which could cause your cache to flood... (",)

Nice one guys... ha ha ha ha

I'll do a mug-dows update, once i've carried out further testing... of course!
