I have been trying to order a SIMPLE GIFT CARD for my husband so he can get an Alienware Computer.
It is stuck in "Phase 2" of their status page and when I call they say the status page is not working properly.
They assured me though that my GIFT CARD was printed last Wednesday, June 5th, 2008, and will be shipped the next day. I would also get an email that it would be shipped. No email as of today so I called.
The excuse:
"We have been real busy with GIFT CARDS because of the current "Back to School" special?"
BACK TO SCHOOL? My kids just got out of school last week for summer vacation!
How can a gift card take this long? My credit card has already been billed but no product yet.
God help me when we order the laptop! It may take even longer, were just trying to beat the deadline and get one with Windows XP.

Yeah that is extremely ridiculous lol.
But the back-to-school is referring to college kids. Apparently some people have parents who will buy them AW gift cards or a laptop like that for going off to school. -

It is 6 pm CST and 7 pm Alienware time, their Customer CareLESS department has gone home for the day.
No replies, no emails, no phone calls, and best of all NO GIFT CARD! NO SH!T
Now the 24 hour sales people, USELESS, cannot cancel my order because thats a Customer Care issue and that department is closed.
What good is 24 hour sales for this company? It doesnt speed up any process. -
maybe it is a blessing in disguise so that you don't buy a brand new laptop with a last generation OS. Get vista, that's what it's made for...

I agree with you HaloGod2007. Alienware been crazy. It seems I know more then the techs do.
Looks are cool and so on. But Quality is what counts. I learn the hard way.

Happy I would take a lesson from everyone here and STAY AWAY from the M15X fiasco.
And it doesn't surprise me at all about the Careless Department. I canceled my Second system back in early May. Guess what still have not receive my funds back on my CC. Giving these wankers till friday if nothing happens, it's back to the BBB and then I will pay an old friend a visit. Who just happens ot be a corporate lawyer for a major oil company. I will ask him to politely write me a nice letter to send off to you find folks at AW. I wonder if I can just charge them interest on the money they Borrowed. Yes I did say borrowed, because I sure as heck never got anything in return. Not even the courtesy of a wrap around LMAO. Although they have had my funds since January, adn they still have not reimbursed me for the shipping cost. -

i returned mine on the 27th may and it arrived by air the next day. they said they didnt receive it until saturday 31st (i didnt think they worked saturdays).
rang on tuesday and they said the money has been credited to my debit card. 2 days later and its still not there. i think once again its a case of them telling you what you want to hear just to get you off their back.
waiting as long as you i would be on the phone every day.

Got money today, and guess what it was 3878, I paid 4037. So now I am still fighting for my FULL REFUND plus My shipping.
They are claiming it was the US to Canadian Exchange. Well I didn't buy my system from the US website I bought it from the Canadian WEBSITE in canadian Funds.
Still waiting for a reply to that. So hopefully I will get a response soon enough. -

The thing that worries me is that a lot of the people who bought them on here were members of the forum before they had them so they didn't join because of technical errors. Most of them seemed to have issues with the ones they ordered, which makes me bring into question the odds of getting a decent one.

i love my m15x and i am EXTREMELY lucky i got a non piece of crap one because otherwise, i know that i for one would NOT have the patience to deal with this company -
The first Area51-m (766) I purchased was flawless and worked every day with no trouble for 5 years never even had to call CS or TS
Now I decided to upgrade to the M17x and had nothing but trouble and I haven't even received the machine yet. I think its ridiculous to release a product and then not have parts to actually build it If the delay was for testing they should have done that before they actually released the machine rather than keep their customers waiting for months but anyhoo.. -
