Does the Alienware OS disc that comes with your system come with the exact OS and programs that are in stalled on your computer when you first turn it on

I ask because I want to put my OS on a SSD and I'm just thinking about what programs i'll need to reinstall once i put my OS on the SSD.

The OS yes. Programs-no. Should have a driver disc also. You should be able to do a Respawn, but most SSD's aren't big enough and you will get an error when trying to Respawn from the disc/USB. Most people suggest a fresh install on an SS anyway.

A fresh install is when you format the whole drive and do a generic Windows 7 install and activate the COA from the bottom.

why don't you clone ur disk to your SSD?

when i migrate my system to SSD, i separate my data from my system and software, & create partition for data itself

and use EASEUS partition master to clone the system disk to SSD, then SWAP the HDD with SSD, pretty hasle free in my exp...

I always download all the latest drivers from Dell into a external HD first & perform clean install.Never gave me any problems so far.

Just want to add some little thing, which is program that came with the laptop notably the Webcam Application, Roxio Creator Starter etc... You can only find it by registering the laptop at My Dell Download. You may want to backup those application to a disc or something because there is a download limit, for me it limit me to 3 times of download only, so it is best to backup your files.

Note: you might want to use IE8 to register because Google Chrome & Firefox sometime does not work, and sometime IE9 as well.
