    *20% off GPU upgrades for M14x , M17x and M18x
*M18x new offers: Hard Drive (Hybrid?) and Memory upgrades

PS: Offers are not clear ,sometimes wrong when configuring and currently being updated ( been checking them hourly and talked to live chat reps). So better wait for things to clear up

    Edit: Looks good now

How do you know for sure that GPU upgrades are 20% off? It says when you try to order online but I don't really see a decrease in price...

good find!! =) but it seems like regardless it adds up to the same thing as they had with the other deal. still a very good deal, i think this is a sign for new GPUs to come!

I saw this deal this morning. You have to go to the page that offers several pre-configs and choose the one that says 20% off. I don't know about the other models but with M18x it requires you to get an upgrade for memory and HDD in order to get the discount for the GPU upgrade. if you were planning on getting that config anyway then can you get some decent savings but if not then you won't really save money.

I saw this too, and was hoping it meant new cards were in the pipeline for the M18x. I was hoping the expiry date for the offer might tell us something. I sure hope not now:

Special Offer - Expires: Sunday, January 01, 2012

Surely that must be wrong. Surely.

If you put the laptop with the GPU 20% offer in your cart. In the cart it says July 14th.
Asked a chat rep and he said ANY offer can end at ANY time.
January 01,2010 is just for the 8GB and BluRay and it might end sooner than that.

weird.. i saw it a min ago and when i go back to try it again, it's gone now. It should be available at the 1699 pre-config.

edit: nvm, you have to go through the feature system tab first to get it to show up

Careful if you are getting any of those special bundles. They sneak other things in as well which is why the price bumps more than it should. For example, on the m14x in addition to the 6GB RAM and the 900p display that they tell you about, you also get bluetooth and the trade-in program. I found the base config was cheaper even with the 900p screen upgrade, and the difference was not worth it for 2 GB of RAM (which I am going to replace anyways).

Anyways, just some advice to look at the full system details to see exactly what's there, since if there's no choice you won't see it in the selection list.

I noticed that whether or not the deal is applied depends on how you navigate to the laptop. If I go from 'Featured Promotions' I see it every time, but If I go to Laptops, then choose the laptop that has the 20% off GPU deal, I don't see it applied.

If you want a much better deal than that deceptive "promotion deal" on the AW page, feel free to PM me and I'll shoot you my Alienware rep information (this applies to anyone with a US address) :)
