The Alienware Orion Backpack is a trendy bag design for Alienware by Mobile Tech.

It is avaliable for purchase from: (click for links)
    Newegg.com $69.99
    Alienware.com $90.00  + tax

I used 3 15 inch laptops in the review to show the size of the bag :)

This is the Front, it has a Hard leather type finish on the front that provides a small measure of protection. Their is a small Alienhead on the front as well it is a black chrome Alienhead and should not draw to much attention. The front is sturdy and has a leather feel to it.

    *******************************

This is the front of the lower compartment of the bag. It has the following:
    ID holder
    1 Velco Pocket
    5 smaller ID/what ever pockets

    *******************************************************

This is to show the back part of the front compartment

    Has the following:
    Velco pouch in the middle
    Zipper compartment @ the top
Slide in pouch on the left
    pencil holders on the right
the bottom has a mesh zipper compartment
    ***************************

This is just to show the Size of the front pocket

This is just to show how roomy the Main compartment is ....
3-- 15 inch Dell laptops with room to spare :)

There is a Main compartment for the laptop and it fit my M17 no problem...
It is a padded Sleeve. The bottom of the bag is also padded which means if you drop it, it shouldn't be damaged :)

    The zippers are extremely durable.
The material they make this out of is the best I have seen...I believe it is Ballistics Nylon.
The straps are extremely supportive and comfortable.
They are the best i have ever had on a bag , they made my m17 + books feel like 5 pounds
. The back is also padded.

Heh I should have got the backpack instead of the messenger bag. I never thought the backpack would be big enough to fit my M17 AND all my schoolbooks but looking at that it probably would, and I'd much prefer a backpack. Oh well, I still really like my messenger bag.

I have one con, one of the pockets in the smaller compartment is losing it's stitching on one side which makes it kinda flimsy. I received the bag for free from AW because of a horrible experience so it's not like I'm upset at all, but still it's a con.

Other than that I think this is the best bag I've ever owned and I get compliments on it from co-workers and others in airports when I travel. It holds a ton of crap and it holds it neatly which is nice.

I do have one question you might be able to help me with Mr Moo, How does this backpack hold up in bad weather?

I personally dont drive, so if im caught in rain...i get wet basicly :)

Im looking for a water proof backpack to look after my M17x, once it arrives!

    Thanks.

I think I'll be getting this bag for my M17x. As it's arriving tomorrow I'll fit it in my current bag (some Targus backpack). If it doesn't fit I'll swipe an Orion from eBay.

    Thanks for the review Moo.

the alien head on mine scratched pretty easily, i don't really know how it happened but the center of its forehead is all rubbed off, I'm gonna guess its from leaning on a wall somewhere tho :/ haha it annoys me a lot though.

If I remember correctly, that is for 15" laptops, so the M17x would be a no go

There is a very nice Pelican case however that one user found that worked very well for him. And will also be shock and water proof and float! lol

They made a 15" version and a 17" version, but Alienware no longer makes them, you might have some luck on eBay, I've seen a few on there.
