I got the messenger bag, and I like the bag itself. It is spacious and stylish as well. After a couple trips, it seems durable and does the job well....

but I highly recommend looking into the backpack over the messenger bag. Everything is just too heavy (M17x, mouse, power brick, and a couple cables) and it's basically intolerable for long periods of time to carry over your neck/shoulder.

    My 2 cents.

Its it possible to stack in some cloth, say im going for a short trip. Is it possible to stuff em together with a M15x(along with the power brick).

These can fit the power brick with room to spare in the front compartment while the laptop is in the main sleeve. There is even room for some extra stuff in the main compartment outside the sleeve as well

    so 3-4 t-shirts + 2 pants + some toiletries + M15x(together with it's lifeline) will fit in the whole bag right? =)

    uhhh no lol

How about, M15x, 1 shirt and maybe 1 pants in main pocket. AC adapter and toiletries in front pocket.

This is not a hiking backpack...it is pretty slim actually

For what you are looking to carry, I would suggest a Slappa
M.A.S.K. KOA Custom Build 17" Laptop BackPack

This is the bag I am looking to get. It is more expensive, but you can fit a ton of stuff in it. While I like the AW backpack, it has some flaws. The inside pocket stitching came loose on mine as well. The Alienhead also scratched on mine very easily. And it just isn't big enough. It does fit an M17X, but its a very tight fit.

I wish AW would commission Slappa to do a AW themed bag.

    Not a chance.

Yep, about the max I can put in there along with the HP8740w.

Yes, but if you also need it to bring the lappie to and from work - Slappa is an overkill.

I'm really happy for folks who come back, long after they purchased something and give the "if you owned this for x amount of time this is what you might like or hate about it" kind of review. New owners are enthusiastic, but seasoned owners tell the in's and out's of a product.d

I managed to find a seller in UK (bagcrazy.co.uk) and I bought it back in Nov 09.

I had to stretch it a bit but I can basically fit my M17x and a Vaio 17'' with chargers inside, plus a couple of documents, mouse pads, cds and mobile phones.

Got very heavy though, but good for traveling...

The good things about it are the space, features, zippers and the shoulder straps that are quite confy.

I guess the only bad thing about it is that the material around the zippers is getting a bit overstretched with time but it hasn't given up yet and it might be my fault though for having it so full.

MobileEdge makes AMAZINGLY strong backpacks. I am still using a Premium Backpack I got from them 4 years ago. And it dam near looks new. They are, in my opinion, the best brand out there. I love my Orion as well, it is perfect for moving my M17x - protects it more than the Premium just has less space.

For a laptop and peripherals only though, can't beat the Orion. I often take my M17x, ac adapter, mouse and headphones, and Cryo LX all in it with some room to spare

I had my Orion back pack since last november,

it is wearing out on the bottom (pics attcahed)

But it still was the best back pack i ever had for a 17 inch laptop.

I used mine allot, and travel extensively with with it, so perhaps the wear and tear is on par, not sure.
