Had an Area 51 m7700/D900T for over two years, loved it. I've pulled it apart and put it back together dozens of times. Still have almost all the pieces of it, too!

I'm now the proud owner of a m9750, too... ok, it's still in the build phase, but that's nothin'. =P

Yeah, I loved it. My only negative about it was that it was like carrying a boat anchor. It was a 3.4Ghz P4, 2GB of RAM with a 6800 Ultra. Whenever my finger and the power button connected the vents shot flames like the Batmobile. It died out eventually due to the heating issue like most, but I loved every minute of it.

Eventually, we discovered that the D900T and D900K motherboards were compatible with the case and all sub-components. So, when my D900T motherboard died, we swapped it out with a D900K and rebuilt the Intel system into an AMD, arctic silver'd the hell of out it and brought it back to life. Ran far, far cooler. :) The guys at www.rjtech.com helped me bring it back to life and did a stellar job.

Right now, the Alienware is serving its country in Kabul, Afghanistan with a system admin helpin' out our boys in the desert. We'll see how it holds up in the heat. Haha.

Nice, I was thinking about the m7700 with a 3.0GHz P4 and 6800Ultra a long while back but chose my 13" VAIO because I needed something that fit a hotel safe and my 15" Fuji LifebookC was too big (standard aspect ratio, 7lbs), at hindsight with all the problems that was a good idea lol

love the Batmobile analogy :D, same with the m9750, if I get cold in bed I just tell it to defragment and virus scan overnight and let the hot air solve my problems..

I'm an m9750 owner and I love it to death. It preforms beyond what I imagined. It is heavy as hell though. I remember thinking "8.5" pounds isn't too bad to carry around, but after lugging it around for one night only I changed my mind. A walk around the block with it is a day's work out in and of itself, but to re-iterate I love my 9750! I would take a bullet for it =D

Haha! That's awesome. So when buying an m9750 you are also investing in a bed warmer. I put mine to sleep last night and passed out with it in my bed and I woke up this morning cuddling it like a teddy bear. My gf doesn't even get that kind of affection.

well I guess you can add me to the area 51 5550i List. Alienware had me take it apart so many dang times. Untell they listen to me the heat issue was the motherboard not grapics card or heatsink.
