hmmm... the m17x or m17 will be good deals right now... when the new one comes out they might be better deals... but you can bet the Allpowerful will be very expensive.

Yeah..for some reason i doubt i will be get "allpowerfull" for a decent price. So the prices on the site will most likely drop once it comes out?..or they might get rid of the m17x and m15x cause they didnt turn out amazing.

    Probably M17 based laptop with 4870 GDDR5.

Just as M17x stayed with 8x00m GTX, and M17 with 3870, I doubt they'll release 4870 or 280 with any existing platform.

Its too early for i7 mobile quad, and I doubt the MB and design for that is ready. At this rate, there will be major refresh by Q4 with new CPU, and possible GPU, stupid to buy into this. Unless it has intel Core 2 Extreme QX9500 @2.93 Ghz, 4x DDR3 slots, RGB-LED display. Then, it would be great

If they release a new machine with a 4870 that would be the final nail in the coffin for the M17 ever getting those cards. I know alot of people were expecting them to come out for the whitebook but i see alienware would rather sell a whole new machine and at the same time maybe not have to deal with existing issues of the whitebook/m17 and just move on .(speculation of course) .

I still think its going to be an 18.4 based on the M98nu though and the clevo has a fancy blue light on the back of the lid that would go perfect with the Alienware styling .

It's good to see Alienware and Dell on top of the game. :) What does the encrypted message says on www.allpowerful.com? I love the marketing technique that they are using. Typical of Alienware. :)

If it's anything bigger than a 17 inch, then it's a no-go for me. Not that I was going to get one anyway, but if it's a brutus monster over 18" then I rather have a desktop.

Of course I am thinking if it is an 18" the animal is gonna cost over $2,000 and surely a swift kick in the balls.

I'm ecstatic and scared at the same time.. I've spent the last month or two checking out computer specs. I had my heart set on the M17, and all that was left was telling my grandfather that's what I want for graduation... then THIS happens?! Good, bad, or insanely incredible (hopefully this one), I know I'm gonna want it because that's the way I am... is it really that likely that it will be, as I fear, more ridiculously overpriced than the current laptops?

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the fact that these so called "upgradeable" gaming laptops arent ever upgradeable....its just like buying any other laptop except we have 2 gpu's and alot more power that cant even be managed right on a quad system

im thinking the 280 sli .... because anything less would not warrant this much trouble and secrecy

dell is clearing stock of 9800m gt and so is AW and there clearing all GPU's lower then that

also the CPU's the t9400 is gone it seems they are dropping alot of options for the older seris and stepping up what they can

the t9550 is montevina CPU and the only reason they would change is to get those now so they have them for the new laptop which means for sure its a montevina

also anythign less then a 9800m gtx would be stupid on there part because they have already have those now so the new system will have 9800m gtx and 280's

    the logic is all there

nope ..... which could be why AW is taking so much to announce this ...
dell is backing them with money and factorys ETC i think this laptoop should have it not i7 but quad and 280 i could be wrong though

it just seems they are trying really hard on this one

We should start a friendly bet of who guess's what it is first :) i bet ill be the winner :p . As for the m17 getting the 4870s i really hope you guys get that option eventually i just know after many years how these companys work and there so called promises they never keep . As halogod2007 said they cant even fix a bios issue and this has been going on for months, im also sure they are fully aware of it but like the cracking hinges of the 15x they just keep shipping them regardless and rather deal with everything on a case by case basis instead of spending money on R&D and fixing stuff the way they should do.

If this turns out to be another Clevo, etc. with a nicer chassis, Alienware is taking a big step back. Sure, quality control was mediocre with the m15x, but it was still an evolutionary laptop in more than a few ways, and it still can't be matched in size and features. If they create another evolutionary laptop, but with better quality control, Alienware has a huge success waiting to be released. If not, Alienware is slowly going back to their old "overprice a computer barebone with a better chassis and a lot of marketing". Alienware has been the only gaming computer manufacturer left to release systems with sizes comparable to an average laptop, but with the best hardware out and unique features to give the system good battery life, etc. To their credit, prices have gotten pretty good, though.

don't say that. they better come out with the 4870's for the whitebook/m17. that is the whole reason i bought it. so it can last me. of course new stuff is going to come out. i am aware of that but i don't like when companies promise something that doesn't come threw. i understand that the 4870 was delayed because of heat issues. (my gpu hit 98 not overclocked on a warm day.) but come on to give up is ridiculous.

but anyways i also think it is going to be 280m sli. very strong feeling because of the fact anything else would be point less to hide. unless they are going to refresh the m17x with centrino 2. then that's great. we will have to wait.

BinaryGFX finally gave a gaming laptop really good battery life. All of those specs in a 15" laptop especially in just a 1.3" chassis was a pretty big achievement.
