I am thinking of getting an alienware laptop in mid february. I was wondering why you can't get Sentia models on the alienware website. Is this just for the holidays?

um idk yet im 13 and my parents will help out but...
around $2000 if we lease. If I customize an area-51 m9750 it will cost over 2 thousand with 120gb hdd, 2gb ram, dvd supermulti, and 2ghz processor. On the alienware.eu website, they have an alienware m5550, but not on the us website. This is about the same cost, maybe a hundred dollars cheaper, but I would prefer an alienware laptop in grey or black.

Or, if you want reasonable gaming performance in a 15.4", you could try out a Compal IFL90/Sager NP2090 with the 512MB version of the NVidia 8600M GT, beginning at $1,078.64 with the following base components: WXSGA (1280x800), C2D T7250 (2.0 GHz, 800MHz frontside bus), 1 GB RAM (DDR2 at 667 MHz), 80GB HDD (SATA/150, 5400rpm), DVD±R/RW, and "N" wireless. See http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np2090-custom-laptop-built-compal-ifl90-p-1876.html

Fully tricked out from xoticpc.com, the IFL90 comes in at $1,834, including a C2D T7700, WSXGA+ (1680x1050), 4GB RAM, 200GB HDD (SATA/300, 7200rpm), DVD±R/RW, "N" wireless and bluetooth. Shipping will probably add another $60, and, unless you live in Nebraska, no sales tax, for a grand total of just under $1,900. By comparison, a Dell XPS 1530 with exactly the same components (other than the video card - the best the Dell can do is the 256MB version of the 8600M GT) comes in at $2,319 beforeshipping and taxes, which will, on a conservative basis, add another $200 to the price, for a final price of approximately $2,500.

So, to summarize, a fully tricked out Compal IFL90 for about $1,900 all told, or a similar Dell XPS 1530 for about $2,500, keeping in mind that the Dell only comes with a 256MB 8600M GT while the IFL90 comes with the full 512MB version. Curious about Compal, further reading can be found here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1030

    Enjoy!

That is completely wrong. The 8600 gt in the xps m1530 has gddr3 memory, and the np2090 has gddr2 memory, Although the np2090 has more memory, the gddr3 memory in the xps is way better for gaming performance. So, for a solid gaming 15.4 notebook, go with the xps.

um just so you know... the tech support from XoticPC.com >>> Alienware

as for outlet stores I dont see why you need one but that's okay. since your budget isn't that high I'd go with a Sager since Sager + pretty decorations + $$$ = Alienware.

Of course if you're really stubborn and just want an alienware so you can say that you have one you could wait for the m15x. The leaked page isn't all that reliable but it started at $1400 and was +$500 for an 8800M GTX which is great. I think you'd just need to up the RAM and you'd be set, but I dont know what the initial processor is so that might go over your budget.

In all honesty, since it's not even your money I dont think you should spend so much just so you can get an Alienware. Personally I'm considering the Alienware because it has the program that lets you switch to the integrated graphics card and I might actually need it to prolong battery life, but the Sager NP5792 still looks to be a very nice option.

kidprodigy, i guess i am stubborn, as I only want an alienware so I can say that I have one. ;)

When is the m15 comming out?

-The money doesn't matter, as my parents don't know basically anything, and the money will probably be paid over months, as the same price as a cell phone bill
They'll just take my word on the best type for the money if I throw big words like gpu and vram at em lol

.... you are a terrible person.....

but anyways... it's okay, I also sorta want an Alienware just for the looks because I guess I'm childish. And, nobody knows when the m15x is coming out, just that it'll be sometime in Q1 2008. They're going to show it off at an expo on Jan 7 though.

and to the comment about the Sony, I'll look at their notebooks but as far as I know they're overpriced and dont have such high performance GPUs.

If they're only showing it off in Janurary then jasuz.. best a luck waiting for it.

Personally though i'd wait for it, looks just simply amazing.

Though easy to say that when im snug typing with my m9750 right now.

At the same time the m15x does look awesome.. puts my m9750 to shame, which i thought would never ever happen.

And lads get off his back for wanting it because of the look and street rep more than the performance to price, i'm also a victim! Hell i could have got a better comp elsewhere but i paid extra for this gucci machine for that exact reason, i dont want walmart i want Gucci! :p
