For some reason i keep getting spam mail to my mail and apparently have registered to things that i have never registered before.
    I have received 3 emails.

One from OK-mail.co.uk saying that i have registered
( It gives me a username and password )

One from WebBrands saying i have registered to receive advertisements..?

And one trying to sell my spanish villa's.

And all have been received within the same exact minute.
So anyone seen this before? Are Alienware really giving your email away?

Are you talking about PMs in this system? Its easy to spam those, and does not require your email address to be released.

If it is your ACTUAL email...well, that's a different story.

Maybe it's just spam mail? I don't think Alienware would do that, considering how they boast that they don't put bloatware on their systems, selling out e-mails for spam would give them just as much of a bad reputation.

Well my dad created this email just for buying the system and has never used it ever apart from when buying the alienware laptop.

He had it for 2 weeks without spam then suddenly got after ordering the laptop.
By the way ive received a few more.

i used my gmail account and i did not get any spam at all. i really doubt AW would do this just to get a couple dollars. they would lose alot of customers if people found out they did that. the brand is already know for being higher tier brand so i doubt they would want to lower their reputation by doing something like that.

Yeah, plus they pride themselves on not having bloatware installed either, so to then go and sell your email address wouldn't make that much sense

with gmail you can add a +ANYTHING in your email and KNOW where spam is coming from. for example [email protected] can be yourname +alienware@gmail.com or [email protected] etc.

It's a great way to know where spam is originating and makes it easy to route email in your gmail account.

But I highly doubt it was from Alienware. I registered with a +alienware on my gmail and have only recieved emails from Alienware. ;)

That is correct. Great way to know where your gmail address got borrowed from. ;) Also a fantastic way to help with gmail filters for routing in your own email.

    +REP @ me... Man I'm awesome.... ;)

Can you please explain more clearly? I don't think I understand. Suppose I had an email adress, [email protected] Then I would make another one? Or I would simply be able to edit it to say [email protected]

And then what would that do precisely?

The email used was from my personal website:
    www.prime-legion.com

Payed for 5 years :D ( 500 pound i think it was ) when i was going to create a gaming community clan but could never be bothered to learn how to create websites.

    So i use [email protected]
personal, never used for anything so i can't think how spam sites got it..
