I got a TactX mouse with my M11x about 1 year ago and it has been great to me but the past few months it randomly disconnects ( still plugged in, but not connected ) for split seconds and this past week it has been going into a phase where it will stay disconnected till I move the cord around enough to reconnect it ( where it then will stay connected for a good deal of time ). As you can guess this can get really annoying where the mouse stops working right in the middle of a game and I have to shake the cord like crazy trying to get it to reconnect ( a few times I think its dead but it comes back ). I see no cracks or brakes on the cord but in one place it has broke the cloth braid and formed a loop that I can not undo ( this appeared roughly a month after I got it ).

Could someone pin point this issue and tell me if it is fixable or will the mouse eventually never reconnect.

OK, so you can take the mouse apart and check the plug. Under the skid pads there are screws. Find them by pushing with your finger till you find a soft spot. Then push the screw driver into the pad. You dont need to remove the pads for this.

After you remove all the screws you can split the mouse. The cable is plugged into the board there, make sure its secure.

When I took mine apart I cut the cord and made it 20 inches long. Because it was doing the same thing as yours with the sheeth coming off because its wrapped up all the time.

Here is a picture of my mouse (and other items)
You can see how I made the cable much shorter
