I was wondering if the Alienware TactX mouse would be alot smaller than the G9x. From my thumb to my pinky is 10" spread out so I prefer larger mice. Also the Logitec G9x looks to be a little cheaper in the grips etc.. I would like a high build quality/comfortable mouse.

If anyone can give me reason to get the Alienware mouse over the G9x for $30 more let me know!

LOGITECH G9x mouse FTW! It has removable/adjustable weights and switchable grips. Best mouse I have ever used, and I have owned over 8 mouses mostly from Logitech.

If you want customisation such as weights and grips, go with the G9x. The TactX has no customisation beyond lighting, dpi, macros and profiles, although it is a very good mouse. I've heard it is slightly smaller than things such as the Razer Mamba etc, which is why I got it, I've got small hands. It definitely feels like a quality mouse, comfortable, love the scroll wheel and the placement of the dpi switching.

At the end of the day, it will be personal preference, and seeing as the price is higher, I'd say go with the G9x if that is what you're already leaning to!

G9X hands down. I have big hands and the larger inter-changeable grip makes it a perfect fit ...plus, it's incredibly light :)

They are the EXACT same internals so just get whichever you think will be more comfortable in your hand. I have a G9x personally and really like it. I use a TactX keyboard though

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. I think am going to go with the G9x because it will most likely fit my hand better and the option for weight selection is also a plus.

Rev, They are the same mouse. One will not fit better than the other. Tactx mouse is a re-branded G9x. The tactx doesnt come with the grips, but it doesnt look like they add uch mass to the mouse.
I have the tactx mouse and like it, however it is a bit on the small side. Will probably be better for younger smaller hands. For the same price I got the RAT 7 to fit to my hand and it is a bit bigger.

I found the different grips on the G9 (I have the original model) useful depending on which mouse grip style you have.

Claw grip works well with the "small" grip. The grip is also less bulbous in the rear, as not to interfere with your palm while using a claw-style grip. While people who use palm grip would be better suited for the larger grip with the thumb rest. It's larger in the rear allowing you to rest your palm on it.

The TactX mouse doesn't look as suitable for claw grippers. Tho, I've never used it, that's purely based on pics that I've seen. I'm sure it's still doable.....but I'd be willing to bet palm grippers would be better suited for it.

    Claw Grip FTW

I tried the Palm Grip motion many times and I just could never get used to it.

I switch between both grips. If I have a wrist rest, I go claw grip, plain ol' mouse pad, palm grip. Back on topic: I would say the G9x if you customizability, the tactx if you want to have the AW theme to go with your hardware.

Im using a tactX mouse and i find it really good. Im a "palm gripper" as to me, its just a more natural feel. Dont think I could get used to holding a mouse like claw grippers as I also agree that it just "looks" uncomfortable.

I guess one of the main reasons for getting the tactx was to compliment the laptop setup I have which include the tactx keyboard and headset...I like customising the lights on ALL of the various bits whenever I feel like it.
