It's a headset, I dont have it but my friend does, and she said the music quality is ok so so, but the mic sound crisp and clear. If you want sort of an all-in-one, I'd suggest you look for either Logitech or Turtle Beach instead but some will be more expensive though would give you better sound quality as well.

If you can fork out 100$, the best bang for buck is the Sennheiser HD280's.

It's highly recommended in the accessories forum of NBR for that price range and I use them to produce music with the tools in my sig.

Sounds excellent full blast with D&B/Deep House/Trance and even if you have the volume full blast, the person in the same room as you cannot hear a peep.

If you want headphones with a microphone, then go Logitech for sure, but at the same you're sacrificing sound quality on models in the same price range.

Seenheiser has a 2 year warranty. Logitech has a 1 year warranty.

it's a rebadged steelseries 5hv2. and frankly, I'd go for the original brand since it supports the virtual 7.1 channel for that price..

I don't think a gaming headphone is good for music

    Exactly.

If I were to compare my 100$ gaming headset to my 100$ music headset, the instruments would be washed out in the gaming headset when listening and composing music.

I'd say always go for a music headset and use it for both and later down the road if you can afford it, buy a surround sound gaming headset for games.

I wish I could show people the difference between both :p

Logitech G930 - My best Gaming headphone I ever invest my money on, and that one is on par with one of my Beat Audio Solo HD, although only when it is using the 7.1 surround sound mode, but still being able to get an on par quality with a high performance audio headphone is consider great.

I use my tactx for gaming and for music, but they do not play very loud at all. Max volume is about 3/4 what my ipod earbuds play on the same computer.

They are super comfy and great for gaming though :)

Replaced my Logitech G35 gaming headset with Sennheiser HD558 headphones several months ago. Both cost me about the same. And, quite honestly, the Sennheisers completely blow away the G35s - in both music and games.

If you want good sound, get a good pair of stereo headphones. I'd generally look for a pair of Sennheisers that are in your price range, they really are great sound and great value for money. And if you absolutely need a mic, just get a seperate mic.

Plus, when you start getting to audiophile grade headphones, they are built to last for a very long time. My G35s are worse for wear after a year and a half of use, on the other hand.
