I have owned 3 alienware laptops over the past several yearsthe 14, 15r1, and 15r2 , both 15in models are junk.
I have had issues with each one the R1 and R2
my current issue, is the laptop will not power on I purchased the device in February from a vendor.
I have had the motherboard and speakers replaced 3 weeks ago. Now Dell is telling me that I have no warranty on the device since I did not purchase it from them, even though they sent a tech out to swap out the motherboard 3 weeks ago.
Dell made me purchase an extended warranty for $149.00 before they will look to see why the laptop will not power on, even though I show as having 272 days left on the factory warranty.
Nothing but a run around from Dell.

Hey Mr. Frank and Khan how are your profits holding up ? Congrats on forging an abomination of filth and greed all new rotten BGA Alienware !! Now that your rep is soaring down only time will unfold on bringing this giant lie and mess soon...

Not sure why people get alienware, they are so overpriced like mac. But to each it's own I guess.
I've gotten the XPS 15 before and when I had issues with they were able to fix and afterward replace because smoke was coming out of the system lol.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

remember, Dell owns Alienware and so it certainly is guilt by association. Alienware is a dell with an Alien head logo and not the Dell logo and uses a fancy case and treats it like some sort of alien (hence Area 51, Aurora 51, etc.) so they can sell it as a different laptop. However to minimize cost, much of what Alienware would be doing themselves was merged or replaced by what Dell put in its place, so you are not going to get any advantage with buying Alienware

Well not to put more wood in the fire, but I received my brand new A17r3 fully decked with a beautiful 4K panel, not been able to use it, crashed on first power up could not get it through the config process, had to do a clean install 3 times only to fail as soon as I got the nvidia driver each time, it's at the service center now (a very modest repair shop that had not seen an Alienware before I dropped mine), and they got me jumping through hoops to get a replacement, talked to at least 6 people on the phone in some offsite call center, but have yet to recieve any kind of confirmation through e-mail that a replacement is on its way.
I'm in Mexico and paid over 2.5k usd with a 17% discount, it's a shame panel was flawless no leakage, thinking about a refund but I already bought a GA and a 1080 from Amazon so kinda stuck to Alienware -
If you were able to get a refund, you could get a 1080 in a laptop without losing 10-30% performance due to the added latency between a cable vs direct connection to motherboard.

Don't you feel your getting rid of it a tad bit premature ? It's so young, and it was a great laptop too! -
I did not know that Clevo had planned to do this 2 years ago. Had I known that I would never have purchased this machine. It is truly regrettable and I am heartbroken by my own bad decision. But, live and learn. I'm sure it won't be my last bad decision. Selling it might end up being an equally bad decision.
I was considering buying a DM3, but I have changed my mind. I don't want to go through this again. I am going to use the money to build a desktop instead. As such, I won't have any need for the parts I was holding back to put in a DM3. I just went ahead and added my 1TB M.2 SSD RAIDO and 32GB of DDR4-3000 back to the configuration that I have up for sale on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clevo-P870D...16GB-DDR4-2400-1TB-SSD-2TB-HDD-/272348067970?Last edited: Sep 7, 2016faiz23 likes this. -

Yeah I saw the sale on ebay. What a waste. Sorry to hear all this. You got it from Eurocom, thought you knew. They have had this picture up showing the sizes of various cards for awhile too, over year. Shows the 200W 980 and the 180W 980. This upgrade uncertainty, along with price, is why I care not that MXM machines are being replaced.
The entire point of having a MXM is to allow an upgrade in the future, which you can now no longer do so because of Pascal incompatibility. Who'd have thought.......
So, in essence, the Alienware 'BGA junk/ filth' with the AGA combo that you have continually insulted throughout all of the threads you have been part of will infact SURPASS your so called amazing "Alienkiller" Clevo in terms of potential upgrades and performance. This is hilarious.....

About the last few links about some laptop issues. I can cherry pick similar issues for all brands. A forum is in general a collection of issues because 90% of all people out there have no reason to be on a forum otherwise.
And you can even mail for example Frank Azor directly and he even answers if you have an issue! Dont spread lies. I wouldnt say their support is the best. If you talk with the people of Alienware directly it is good. If you just call the mainstream Dell telephone number there is a big chance you get someone inexperienced on the phone.
Also you talk about a company that cares. Pretty much all companies these days are out for your money. If you dont bring money into their pocket they simply do not care about you.
Also lets be honest here. Not all MXM able machines can run the latest pascal cards. We all know that. Dont act like it does.Caladdon likes this. -
Yup, truly great news for many that are eager to make something older run like something new for a fraction of the cost of a whole new machine. And, Eurocom is going the extra mile to help those that want to get another 2 or 3 year old of their beast laptops with another GPU upgrade. Those with Sandy and Ivy and Haswell Extreme mobile CPUs will still be golden compared to their diseased younger siblings.

could you make posts more annoying to read?
I can, yes; if more annoying is what you want, more annoying is what you shall get
rhinneh random quote: "As if it is so hard to understand that some users have totally different needs which need to be catered as well. In my years of being one of the moderators ..."
as if it is it so hard to understand that some forum members have totally different needs to be catered to as well, needs which may not revolve around your needs, whatever those may be; I do not have to cater to your needs if I don't feel inclined to, and, I don't feel inclined to: it's best to make you aware of that so that your expectations are low & strictly remain low from here after. Please condition yourself to having zero expectation I will cater to your needs, even if you feel overcome with a bizarre compulsion to try to 'represent everyone's collective needs', a gift I do not think you were granted even if it feels like you were. To be fair, if you think you're representing a collective or the collective then I have equal expectation that perhaps so am I & I'm not sure you can prove otherwise to my complete satisfaction
Moving on, your writing style is equally terrible in my expert opinion, due to the fact your spelling typos grammar & sentence structure by & large are not that of an expert in the English language; unmistakably so, & I doubt your problem with my style has a base in reality more than just as a function of your imperfect grasp of English itself, both reading it & writing it. To even speak of these things be it you or I doing so moves us away from the topic-at-large called Dellware Garbage, but I trust you were aware of that when you 1st began to type
NBR as a community will profit nothing by your critique of my 'style', so as a professed former ex-moderator & psuedo-expert on how a forum 'should' run, your attempt to critique my 'style' which does the preposterous thing of all to 'persuade' to bow to your personal wishes is so unprofessional I'm a bit jarred by your attempt to act all grown up sounding because I'm not convinced you actually pulled it off like you thought you would ... savvy?
This isn't your forum your subforum your post your thread you are not a moderator you are not a friend so you need to perhaps relinquish your concept of how this public forum - which does not belong to you - should play out, & surrender to our shared consensus reality which dictates there are people you have no power or say or persuasion over in this life & I am just that type of person whether you like it or not. I didn't make you click on my post. If you chose to do so of your own volition & were then compelled by some irresistible compulsion to get to the bottom of me & 'fix' me more to your liking as we move forward in time, the outcome & implications of doing so belongs to you now, not me. I'm under no obligation to you what-so-ever. You may as well of posted it all in Dutch, since all of those English words you typed have gone in one of my ears & straight out of the other as garbage in garbage out
"Just cut to the chase, say what you want without all he pictures, changing of names etc. Just some honest feedback". I'll take it under advisement, ummmm, gonna pass on that advice. My membership account grants me free access here under moderation of which you are not one who sits in a position of power & have no influence here which isn't equal to my own in theory & which membership entitles me to a free space where I can park on it whatever I want, & I don't have to bow to pressure to change one little thing that I've parked, not even a period mark, on any space I choose here at NBR, past present & future. The ex-moderator in you, though admirable as jobs past done, is a hollow affair in the here & now right here right now at NBR & carries no weight with me, &, you seem to have a jealous possessive hold & irrational emotional attachment to the state & fate of this abstract place called the Dellware section at NBR for some strange reason ... is this place getting to you perhaps? Is this a product of wanting to be a moderator but can't be but still want pretend moderator super-powers??? Words, but with force behind them? Your words have no force, not with me anyways. I suppose you could pick on a weakling & get your way, they are out there no doubt, best to move on from any foolish notion of picking on me ... we're taking care of that right now, or, rather, I am
There's always AlienArena forum you know rinzero, to be amongst your peers. Free friendly advice? Some time away from this place might do you a world of good ... if you decide to stick around here, I have some thoughts for this place, I think this place, it needs more pictures & name changes & less honest feedback here; if that's what the membership decides, who am I to say or decide against. I can't say, I can only control what takes place in & on my own personal spaces & try to co-habitate with all the rest of humanity here for better or worse, those spaces & places I call my own & claim as my own, have you heard the expression: I will piss where I please ...
About the last few links about some laptop issues. I can cherry pick similar issues for all brands. We aren't here to discuss other brands, you know that right? We can, but to stay marginally on the topic of Dellware Garbage I chose to link today to Dellware Garbage in all of its many forms, yes?
I didn't cherry pick issues - oh contraire rinneh - but it doesn't surprise me if you deemed those as 'issue based'; I cherry picked the garbage customer service that failed to resolve those issues & my prediction which is based off of more than just cherry picking is that future buyers will be treated to this same garbage & I'm here to raise public awareness to that fact & it is a fact that so long there be Dellware Garbage in this world & people who buy it there will be concomitant garbage customer service who won't want to help support it to go right along with it in a package simply called 'Dellware Garbage'
Why don't you cherry pick similar laptop issues with this brand, only this brand, bring them in here so we can fill this thread up you & I with the stench of Dellware garbage, & stay on topic in the process. Success stories, failure stories ... you see?, they are two sides of the same coin called customer service. You flip the coin, I flip the coin, but my side is equally relevant to yours, inextricable from yours. Based on the post title & the tone to the thread itself, today I've decided to live by the mantra that when in Rome do as the Romans & I've heaped the garbage onto my spot & there isn't a damn thing you can do about it anymore than you can to change the outcome of the next space I heap Dellware Garbage on with more evidence & anecdotes & symbolism & humor & horror rhinneh, the horror ...
A forum is in general a collection of issues because 90% of all people out there have no reason to be on a forum otherwise. As a forum expert myself, I'm flattered you wish to teach me these things, I suppose etiquette class is next? Whether yes or no, it is exactly that 10% of the membership not here for collections of issues that I'm entitled to broadcast to, NBR has invited me - do you understand that? - I've been invited to come here to their forum and broadcast my message free from creepy unwanted personal judgment by the likes of you. If the other 90% don't like it, they can blame the presence of the other 10%, but don't blame me, it would be untoward to blame me. The forum is a living breathing thing; it seems to play out by nobody's rules & everybody's rules but the one thing I'm entirely certain of is I do not have to play or play out my online life by your rules, not hardly, & not ever
No Sir
Azor, he even answers! And what? Passes it off to a lacky? A flunky? Does Alien-Eimy handle it?
Dont spread lies. Moi? You appear to be spreading a lie that Azor handles all customer complaints or at best a half-truth
But back to what you said. What lies did I spread.
Prove I lied with the public intent to spread that lie
Poi nt it or point them out for me at once before I report your post for defamation of my character
complex question fallacy
I wouldnt say their support is the best. I think you would have called it the best before you ran into my post today. I posted today in order to undermine your ability to call it the best, verdad? Besides, who cares about your opinion? I don't. If I want opinions, those are easily had on Consumer Affairs & all the Dell forums, they exist inside this very thread. More than a sample of one is always best, so I brought a dozen. You brought ... yours? The community can benefit from more than just rinneh's opinion or mine, so I brought some friends along to tell a clearer story whereas I see that you didn't, I felt that was worth saying twice
If you'd like to be helpful? Leave Frank's contact mail in your thread instead of running all over the forum saying 'Azor answers mail! He answer's mail by God!' & never providing anyone the physical link to the man ... for Pete's sake
Message your friend, ask about the garbage psu in Aurora & be certain to ask him about the same garbage one in the AGA you plan to buy from him but have to replace on delivery day due to its garbage nature, & report back to the forum what he said & did not say to all of your concerns which of course represent a collective of concerns
Also you talk about a company that cares. Pretty much all companies these days are out for your money. Your go-to tactic, twice, is to say 'other companies', yes, & there are subforums for those other companies, but I parked my post where I did in an attempt to discuss critique & review this company, Dellware. Did you not see the welcome sign when you logged in today? Dellware and Dell garbage and only that company's multitude of garbage is what I'm up for going over, how about you?
15 R3 & 17 R4 ... those people are next, right? Right ... no lie ...
Also lets be honest here. All this talk of lies & honesty, what has gotten into you, I don't wonder
Not all MXM able machines can run the latest pascal cards. We all know that. Dont act like it does. Yes, let's. Eurocom is being honest: no acting necessary
What cannot run the latest Pascal cards is Maxwell-era Dellware garbage. We all know that too
Anyone with two brain cells understands what the Eurocom video is about & equally understands what my entire post is about. We all know
But again, in your voice when you say 'don't', twice you said it, I hear you trying to tell me what to do, as if I did it again there would be a consequence attached to it somehow that I should contemplate in my quiet time, & well it's off-putting; you seem to be taking an awful amount of liberty there & I feel a lot better about my post & the liberty I expressed with it to say whatever I need to say, free from your petty judgment
5 paragraphs, and all you really said that had any value at all was mail Azor?
Will you direct me please to the forum or forum's stickies - plural - at NBR AClub Arena & Owner's called 'mail Azor all of your problems and woes' or similar. If not all four, can you link me to just one? Or does a person have to 1st 'learn the secrets' to being a model Dellware garbage owner to get good customer service? Where are these secrets? Strewn about? Or are they collected somewhere? Since I do not buy new Dellware Garbage I can assure you I do not personally need the 'the Key Secret Ingredient' to being a Dellware owner but others may be in desperate need of it, even right now
If anything, all Dellware owners should have equal access to 'the Secret', so why don't they I wonder? It seems to me that only a select few of people know about this secret while the other 99% of owners are disenfranchised from the Secret ... thus promulgating the garbage & typing their horror stories with the intent of making a record & taking it public in order to best warn other customers ... it is the lack of possessing in one's mind or on one's paper or PDA the Secret, that may explain all or most of the anxiety to being a Dellware customer; if they'd all just mail Frank, Dellware could have a 5 Star Rating ...
What proof do you have rinneh, that when 'mailing Frank', that his mails aren't being answered by, say, AlienKhan instead??? With all of this Dell Garbage & all of these Dellware Garbage issues & all of these customers needing a remedy for all this garbage, the man could never get a thing accomplished I shouldn't think ... thus making for more garbage to support
Aliens.com, does is say to call 1-800-Alienware or do you think as I think it should say call 1-800-Azorware in order to get the level of service one needs in this life ... hmmmm? Insider Knowledge - or the Secret - could be public knowledge & by your own language probably should be front & center on all stations ... is he like a last resort? He feels like it
I'm available all day, shall we continue? Yes? No?
If so, begin by putting down on paper where I lied & then state your proof it is a lie & then state your proof it was an intentional lie
the only lie that got spread was by you & the others I named, & that lie was that Clevo can't have Pascal & I proved it was a lieLast edited by a moderator: Sep 26, 2016 -
Second. On a forum i dont care a lot about the correctness of my grammar or spelling. Mind you that english is not my first language (however ot has been proven more than sufficient during my countless large scale presentations that i have done worldwide). But i am able to express myself in 4 languages including japanese and german. It is not your english that is the problem but the posts with the lenght of books with content which can be packed in 5 sentences.
Third, i never claimed to be speaking for a larger group. I did however state that all these manufacturers know pretty well what sells and what doesnt. So to me it appears that it is simply what the general gaming public wish for. If it sells they will make it.
My point was. A forum is often a trashcan to throw all issues in. People are searching for solutions. Often because they come across a bad service/support employee. My point is pretty much every company has these. Capitalism at its worst and i do not condone it but this is just the state of the current consumer culture and you see it happen in any industry. The thing is, you can work around it and still get what you want.
Regarding emailing Frank Azor, you have to just take my word for it. The emails are marked confidential and i honor that. But i emailed him regarding some bios concerns and that there was a flaw in my screenlid. He gave me feedback and forwarsed my email afterwards to his technical team and those shipped the parts to me. I chose to fix it myself becaise I consider my skills to be far superior compared to the outsourced technicians that just do it to earn their bread and have no real experience with alienware systems.
Anyway, my issues where resolved by contacting alienware and technical support directly. People that use dell systems within the office where i work have the same experiences. I dont deny that other dont have legitimate issues i simply say it is not manufacturer specific. Mind you that i used a **** ton of brands the past 10 years.
Last i never said directly that you lied but a lot is implied by various user and incorrect statements have been made.Last edited: Sep 24, 2016 -
First of all I address you as I like the same as you chang the names (even of they are nicknames). So long as I don't change your name, why is yours a personal interest in nit-picking the way I do business over things that do not remotely even apply to you I wonder ... the only forum cleaners I'm aware of that are charged with cleaning up individual posts here are the moderators, but yes I see you agree with me that free will is a natural state-of-being one doesn't hand over to someone else so easily; I don't give my free will away to you or anyone else
Regardless, it is for the moderators to decide if changing or creating a permutation of a name meets forum rules or not, not you. If I have the right to do that, I wonder what it is about your personal investment in my posts where you would try to deny me of my rights in an attempt to bend me to your will
Where do you claim the right to dictate to me, twice now, the length of my posts, as if they have to be custom-made for your approval
WHO THE ____ DO YOU THINK YOU ARE
I'm a pretend Frank Azor stopped being a coward & came into this thread today, told me I can't change names can't post pictures & videos can't type 150 lines can't spread lies & should start producing better reading material typed in a brevity for him to more easily enjoy
Once I conjure that mental image & get a shiver, I realize he's as perfect a stranger to me as you are to say such things, & would be as out of line in approaching me in public that way as you just did, & ... I gotta tell ya young sapling, it ain't going over so well ...
I can't stick around to learn what 'incorrect statements' were made but I assure you they weren't mine, 'trust me'

roll tape: '... my favorite thing about this product, #1 (wait for it) ... you're gonna have to take our word for it now, but you'll see when the reviews come out ... how ... quiet ... this machine is. We have an ultra-low quiet mode & even under load, it's amazing the thermal design that our engineers put into this product; the only way I can tell when this thing is running when it's in my house is by looking at the light screen. I can't hear it; I've never had a desktop this quiet before, it's remarkable ...'
_____________
Remember how the live laptop marketing came with prepared buzzwords like copper, more metal, slimmer, hinge forward, yadda yadda; these same linguistic tools will be just as hard at work on the sales page & in new online reviews in order to package a dialogue & focus attention on selling / buying strengths of a product. The same happened during & after the world debut video above ... one of the catch phrases at the event: whisper quiet design
Music to people's ears, right? This debut video has reached a large audience, where Frank's favorite thing about it will be your favorite thing about it too. He vouched for amazing thermal design from the engineers, unrivaled almost: if he never had a PC so quiet, it stands to reason so will you. He gave his word, asked you to trust him on it
Can you trust me a minute? Where, instead of me bringing in witness testimony, links & evidence, trust me when I say that this THING is SO loud, it has to be sent back, returned as an abomination, since women & children run from it in fear & the man of the house has to deal with it like a man would; either get it off the property, or, spend an hour on the phone with Dellware. It isn't just the garbage power supply making noise, it's also those systems that have a fan-sink ( *a never-ending cycle of fast revving up / down like a dentist's drill perhaps). 'Thermal design by engineering' includes the power plant, heatsink & fans as a system that help expel the thermal build-up, doing so in quiet fashion so we were told
Azor placed his word & the company reputation on a silent computer, but in his lust to help drum up 67billion for Mr Dell's Tech Buy out, he got cheap, he gave in by 'necessity' to Dell's budget parts bin clearly as a gamble & shipped the 1st wave of these things to unsuspecting & hopeful buyers, a product of unamazing under-engineered thermal design - but remember from reviews & marketing itself? - shipped them 1st & foremost to trusting buyers, wanting to believe in the marketing hype, with a stamp of approval from the GM himself. In a fast attempt to cash in, now we have what we have
Normally, they send the good stuff 1st to help establish the product's reputation, solidify it, since 1st impressions are everything, am I right? ... later they can bank off of the good reputation that was established with happy buyers & then get cheap, ie spare parts will send the junk warranty replacement, as an under-handed cost-cut **proof follows below. Not here. They went for easy money, compromised the quiet experience, traded the quietest PC ever heard for the loudest one ever heard
That, to me, is Dellware ...
The real one, the same one that some forum members don't like to read about, hear about, talk about, allow others to talk about etc etc ... but if you've been inititiated & belong to the initiated, then they are who we think they are & who we thought they were & know they are & know them for
Actual fresh buyer testimony: I think it's unacceptable that such a poor quality component was ever allowed into a mainstream build & it has put me off Alienware for good
Above, the typical consumer, incensed by an act of betrayal, is how I read that, stripped of the illusion that this is a premium company that deals in nothing but premium materials. Uh. No.
As I said, Dellware creates their own friends enemies & critics; my help will never be needed because they themselves churn out haters on an on-going daily basis. In the meantime, join me in keeping a close eye on how they handle this consumer crisis ... there is no forum sticky for people to go to... Corporate doesn't like to draw attention to problems, like a help post called: helping resolve your noisy new Alien >why it happens & how we can help<
5days ago, I posted at two places on their Youtube, posted on the video above in fact, & they silenced me, regardless it was a brand new user account without a history. You're encouraged to post there as well, to verify. In the meantime, the other place I posted was Aurora TechTalk & this is what we're dealing with. Days after I posted? The comment below was passed for public consumption today & is visible right now, Sept 24th from Barry Mutton:
Biggest waste of money ever. Alienware's desktops are truly destroying the concept of PC gaming. Dell is all about the money
1st of all, human intervention was required on that channel for Barry to pass their filter, get the green light & go public. They saw his, they saw mine, & mine was passed. The question I drafted that the public isn't allowed to see?
'what are you doing about the ultra noisy 460watt power supply / hair dryer? Aurora R5 PSU issue 460w fan >< Aurora R5 power supply fan very very very loud a well documented issue on several Dell forums. Why are you shipping everyone the noisy incompetent non-80Plus rated 460 (D460AM-03) when you have an 80Bronze 460 already certified (D460EM-00) for R5?'
In the mind of an Alien, Mutton has earned a right to troll the TechTalk channel, even if its intent is to steer the public away from buying the product, but it hasn't been deemed good for business to have an actual TechTalk on their channel from someone (me) who appears to have intimate knowledge of the issue, where a public dialogue or reply or acknowledgement('we're aware, stay tuned) can warn people of an emerging product defect issue, what caused it & what exactly the company is doing to correct it ... they are who we think they are ... as they opt for an information blackout so as not to alert & alarm the public-at-large on Youtube, I will broadcast here on NotebookReview & other outlets as I normally do the past few years; this is just the latest garbage they've shoveled into the consumer realm & it won't be the last. They've brought the criticism on themselves & obviously feel no need to represent their position & defend their deservedly poor reputation here or there
If I can't ask about an issue on youtube & get a straight answer, it implies that neither can you, which is a problem for both of us, a problem for all of us. For the most part, nobody knows who Azor is nor do they contemplate approaching a nameless corporate head to get a resolution. But people do go to utube to ask for help, & as you see ...
TechTalk is a sales page ...What does this have to do with laptops. Well, if you've read my posts before, you should be aware of a disturbing pattern of poor customer service, & now you can be prepared to join others in the Dell Hell Club. Also, you can be aware of their penchant for using poor materials disguised in premium packages. And since you know Mr Dell is hard up for cash, you can be on the lookout for 'skimp' in strange places with an obligatory price hike to widen their profit margin. Like here. Also heard in the world debut video, the GM says they're aware that if you buy their new desktop, your thoughts may be on having it in your life for as long as 10years down the road, & they've got your best interests at heart to help get it there, yadda yadda
& no lie: trolling is allowed, tech issues aren't, yes?
It turns out, that if you buy the Intel-K processor, your motherboard 'gets' the mosfet / vrm heatsink cooler, almost trivial since most any motherboard gets one by necssity
as the punitive measure
and no, the heatsink isn't sold separately

* Alienware Aurora R5 fan behavior (cpu fan - noisy little bugger - psu will be next)
Hi, I just got a new Alienware Aurora R5 machine and I've got a question about the fan. It seems like the fan speed is constantly fluctuating ever few seconds when running games. I've contacted Alienware and they changed my fan curves but I still notice the fan constantly revving up and down every few seconds. It doesn't go from 0 to full blast, but it's not a steady speed either. I just wanted to find out if this is normal with other R5's out there
** My forum friend Marctronixx, I've actively been involved in helping him swap a Corsair 1500i power supply in his brand new Area-51 R2; he opted for the base 850w at checkout / pull it / swap it to something way better than their 1500w he passed over at checkout, ok?
To my surprise, his 850watt is listed today on eBay. but to my shock, they are now shipping the garbage no-name 48Y6D 850 to new buyers, lol, where past buyers got the N1WJD brand name Delta chassis. The idea is, new buyers got the Delta, but warranty replacements will be the no name cheaper cost-cut Kunthey chassis, the one you don't want. Now? The cost-cut models ship to buyers, the old switcheroo ...
Mr Dell needs 67billion
MARC BOUGHT THE $2050 10CORE INTEL
& THEY CHEAPED OUT ON HIS BUILD
worse? Corsair ax1500i refuses to work, making it the only X99 motherboard on planet earth that can't run it: the motherboard's been gimped, making it yet another piece of Dellware Garbage found in his costly buildLast edited: Sep 25, 2016 -
Oh and i just gave feedback that your posts are annoying to read. Not deciding for you that you have to change it. It is an advice not a forceful command to do so. Learn the difference and dont overreact.
If you dont like the product's just dont buy 'm.Last edited: Sep 24, 2016 -
King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiast
Alienware has been trash since the M17x R3 and M18x R2. Nobody well read and open minded would ever dispute that
Decent enthusiast laptops are now more or less a thing of the past. Confirmed with the launch of Pascal.

I completely forgot about this thread until I was tagged again...
@rinneh - Buddy there's no point in trying to argue with the naysayers - They've got this overwhelming delusion that their choices are somehow far superior for your very own personal needs/ wants.
After all they apparently know what's better for you......
That guy Cass-Ole posts some amount of garbage that should be classed as spam.... I've always skipped most of his stuff anyway. He's a boring forum user to read....
You can upgrade - Whoopdedo..... It still doesn't change anything because prices will still be enormous and most buyers can't really be arsed fiddling with those kind of installations. MXM is dying out....get over it.
Mr.Fox also already sold his system.... Perhaps you've missed that....
Their view is basically; You can't upgrade via MXM therefore your choice sucks.....
The folk with common sense know that just because you enjoy a product it doesn't make you a "fanboi".
My next system might very well be a new MSI to try something different yet again.
Was busy gaming over the weekend with a friend whom just purchased an Alienware 15 and he is also over the moon. There are now 3 in my circle that possess one of the new Alienware systems and we're all very happy.
I can either spend my time gaming with friends or spend it pointlessly bickering with users that really should be reported as trolls....
This thread will probably be closed soon because of them anyway....Dr. AMK likes this. -

A very strange attitude some have
If others have a different opinion than themselves about hardware, so must every forum thread be closed!! It is no wonder that there are still dictators around the world and can behavior like patronage. You aren't Troll because you have another opinion on things!!

We should give Alienware some respect, and I'm sure that someday he will be a King again.

sometimes it almost seems as if all these kids coming out of college with no real tech or business experience are landing top positions in big tech companies and are trying to force consumers to buy a new unit every year or 2.
I worked for a customer service phone support contractor for a big TV company a year or 2 ago and one of the Top of the line TV models they sold ended up being a black Friday special. I was rather dissatisfied when we were forced to tell people they were getting a mid rang model with out actually saying so and pushing the specs in the most positive light possible because there were no parts or placements available let alone produced for the top model. (those extended warranties aren't always a bad idea folks, especially if you can get 4 or 5 year)
Fiddling around electronics and automotive over the years and reading various articles here and there I can definitely say i'v learned a bit about manufacturing and business trends. Glad i'm getting free hand me down and buying second third hand used. It ain't broke it probably won't or is already broke and have an idea on how to fix it or upgrade it. Kind of glad i'm not spending on the latest and greatest. -
@Cass-Olé , Seems like Ars was sent a unit for review of Aurora since they are the best now apart from that dumpsterVerge and noobgadget, Makes me sad when the better ones are always being corrupted by the $$$ and converted to Kool-Aid advertisers.
I posted your links in the comments, People should know how Garbage that thing & the Alienware brand is.
EDIT : And seems like I got downvoted, People just don't seem to care to think anymore these days, they have iPhone to do everything for them. I tried but failed.. :/Last edited: Oct 11, 2016
