Does anyone know if Alienware will have anything at CeBIT 2011? I have done a search and only find old posts from prior years where they have been there.
They show starts tomorrow and is in Germany, so no chance of me getting to see it. ):

I'll be there on Saturday, but I don't expect anything surprising. After all CeBIT has become more and more business-focused over the last years.

    Hi,

well after the last years i think AW could be there again.
They gave away these incredible discount-coupons (up to 50%?!). It was great.

    Wir sehen uns dann!

    please, do tell! ;)

between the M17x R2 being taken off the alienware site this afternoon and cebit starting (asus just unveiled their g74 3d today at the show), either the relaunch of the M17x R3 single gpu powerhouse is imminent (possibly not only with the amd 6970m, but also nvidia 560m?!?!) or the lineups next dual gpu monster system (mythical M18x?) is on its way - or perhaps even both?!?! :p maybe just some wishful thinking, but would definitely be nice! :D

This should be interesting...perhaps now we'll get some confirmation on the supposed m18x or m19x or m14x or m11x-r3 models people have been speculating about.

for anyone interested, hexus.net has recently posted a glimpse of the forthcoming M17x R3 in action at CeBIT:

NVIDIA's ben berraondo with more on "possibly his favorite laptop that he's certainly ever seen" here.

nice find. Full 1080p with 3D at Gamer Settings. Thats impressive.

Sad thing is Crysis 1 can't do that. We can't even play full 1080p without 3D.

Alright, Im just happy I got on, internet at the place I am staying got cut off (wire snapped partially underground) so now I am operating from the top floor of a family business... 4 floors up in a typical german house is ridiculously high.

Anyways I'm not at CeBIT yet, Ill be there in 23 hours... well Ill be there 2 or 3 hours before it opens tomorrow so I can have updates up hopefully in 36-48 hours maybe sooner depending how it goes as I have 3 or 4 pages of exhibitors to visit in 9 hours. Ill do my best to get to AW but I cant promise that I can get stuff up right away.

Hmm. The fact that the R3 can pull that off (Crysis 2, 1080p, Gamer + 3D) suddenly makes it a lot more appealing to me.

It also means that Crysis 2 is either a lot less graphically intense than Crysis 1, or Crysis 1 was coded really badly and Crysis 2 really well. Or a combination of the two. (I tend to think the lack of foliage would play a part in that)

crysis 1 was really badly coded your m17 can likely pull it off at 1080p too
what will kill it is the aditional 120 pixel of vertical resolution

Crysis 2 MP Demo was very surprising for the R3, I was able to pull off very playable frame rates at 1080p OCed(800/1600/1450) on Advanced Graphics setting.

if you're referring to the hexus.net post from (now) bottom page 1, suppose it was merged here since crysis 2 was showcased on an M17x R3 @CeBIT...

ROFL Release them all! Actually, I'd be sooo pleased with a M13 or M14!

    --

I checked out that G74 on Youtube at that event ...comments say it's a 560m nVidia. I don't like the new vent placement ...it's going to burn your legs. The G73 is way better due to the upward tilt, so you can have it on your legs for extended periods of time.

Well I went and apparently Dell didnt have any M17x R3s or Alienware's for that matter at CeBIT. According to their staff they couldn't get them to the show on time.

Unfortunately I couldnt find the "right" nvidia booth either. There were quite a few and most were set up by distributors.

c'mon dell/alienware - the competition drops their new machine (G74SX) at the show, and you leave it to happenstance from a vendor for your only showing?!?!

def. thanks for dropping in x2p! :D

Note Asus actually dropped one of their computers on their way from Taiwan... their glasses free 3D 15" sample but it still made it and it still worked. Dell honestly had nothing there that was "really" interesting, basically the booth was a bunch of seats with 4 circular desk kinda things with computers lined around them.

If you guys have played the demo at all, "gamer" settings are the lowest possible settings. Not that it looks bad, but referring to the setting as "gamer" is making the 460m seem like a better card than it actually is.

Considering there is nothing new coming out @ CeBIT, its time to close this.... Oh well - perhaps next time. :(
