    Hey guys!

I've got a question for you all M17 users. What kind of bags are you using to carry your lappy? I didn't want to post this to general accessories forums, since the M17 is a bit thicker than normal 17" notebooks and I'd like to know how you guys solved this problem.

I've found a few very nice 17" notebook bags but they usually have a problem being a bit tight to fit the M17. I don't want to squeeze my laptop into my back bag cos I'm afraid the matte finish might get damaged.

The Alienware bags looks all right, but I don't feel like ordering them from all the way England.

I as well have the Orion backpack and it works perfect for school and LAN's. I would recommend the Orion backpack, I can fit M17 and this 15in Sony vaio, g9, mouse pad, power brick, windows game controller, ipod and quite a few more things i love it and how it fits on back nice and snug good feeling when you know u got 4g's just hanging out back there!

Isn't there something on wheels? I had a nine pound 15 inch Sony and it was too heavy for carting around. I had to get a 600 dollar Tumi on wheels so I had no problem walking through the airport with it. Too bad it's not big enough for the M17.

Technically I have an m15x but still. I found the Orion cool in theory, but when it arrived it was just a touch too... swish. I had to beat it up a bit to make it look more like a backback and less like a breif case tied to my back - and i can honestly say beating it up hurt me more than it hurt it :(.

Just to be sure, you have M17 too? I was thinking on Targus XL as it looks like it can hold enough stuff.

All right thanks guys! I might go with Targus XL too. The price isn't bad and it's available in most computer stores.

XDD. Wow, well over here most people wouldn't know what an Alienware is but they would surely beat me down for a bag that looks like it has something in it. Wow, 6'6, shoot, I'm 5'11 at the moment, trying to reach 6'0 at least.

So I got my Targus XL backpack earlier this week too. It really did fit my M17 and a folder very well. Then one of the shoulder straps started to tear. Heck, it was the first day I got it and I wasn't even out of the door. I was packing my M17 inside it when I noticed the other strap was ripped approx. 1.5cm. So I thought "Whoa! This gotta me some kind of faulty version of the bag" and I returned it.

Two days go and I received my new Targus XL. I remove the plastic wrapper and notice "Great, the waist belt is missing...". So I send and email back to my store and ask if it's possible to receive the belt too. Once that's done I return to my backpack and start packing it. One M17, one folder, I lift the bag, I hear a "SNAP!".

... Shoulder strap started to tear from the same spot. And then I decided to write an email directly to Targus and congratulate them from making such a fragile, shi*ty backpacks.

D*mn I'm disappointed that I went and bought the backpack. Targus is even boasting lifetime warranty on their products, yet I have two backpacks which both fall into pieces the first day I get them. I really do have better things to do than to wrestle with low quality bags.

I'm too embarrassed to even return this piece of **** back to my store. They probably think I'm doing this on purpose. And keep the waist belt too, I doubt I have any use for it anymore. :|

Another 60€ down the drain, as a student I could have found use for that money.

I have both the odyssey and orion backpacks and I prefer the odyssey over the orion. The odyssey can hold my m9750, laptop stand, Belkin N52TE gamepad, mouse and everything else I can think of to bring. The orion in my opinion is plenty big enough if you don't have many extras that you want to bring with. Alienware does still sell the odyssey from time to time, I bought mine from there last month. Some days it seems to be listed and others it doesn't.

Not all Targus bags are crap, my messenger bag carries my M17 to and from school almost everyday. It has held up well and has not pulled under the weight of my 10 pound laptop or 3 pound ac adapter or my text books either.

My Targus bag held up pretty well, too (I'm not sure what model the bag is...) - though when I ordered the new M17, I opted for the orion messenger bag to go with it...

Wish I'd have thought to check Newegg for bags - based on the link above, looks like I could have shaved a bit off the price... :)
