yeah, thats what I thought. I was just checking out the costco.com computer notebook sections and lo and behold I see this:

And the picture they show is none other than the m15x.

Hmm kinda makes you wonder, they get some good deals at costco, not only that but there is a 90 day money back guarantee.
Also there going to be selling AW Desktops.
Heres the link

Not exactly sure what I think about this one.
-
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
I know what I think... If costco gets them before mine ships, I might just cancel an order through costco.
-
Wow, I wonder if they will allow a custom order. If they follow what they do for the HP HDX, it will be able to be customized.
Another nice feature is they extend the warranty for an additional year for free. -
I know what this means.
This means Dell is on a road to gain market share, it's all planned. -
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
^^^ What he said
-
its the apocalypse!
-
wonder if they are coming to a costco UK near me :B
-
i dont think it will sell well if it isnt cheap enough. there is an alienware desktop in best buy that i saw. alot of people were looking at it. not alot of people wanted to buy it though
-
Yahoo, cheer for Costco return policy and all worry about M15 erased! However, the costco one better have the light system, or it will be sad.
-
You have to realize that Costco does things a little different than most retailers. Yes they say that they will carry the item, but a majority of the time it is not in the store, rather you order it online. They have deals with all the major manufacturers so if you see something that they make and its not in the store, they can and will do online with it. More like a drop shipment deal.
-
whoa. AW on costco
-
Looks like the exclusivity of AW is down the drain now.
-
eh, they won't slash prices... AW will stay remain a "premium brand", i'm sure.
-
theve got to get rid of all the returned or canceled m15 somewhere.
they will be at tescos or lidl next
-
that would be awesomely funny.
-
You still get the Costco 90 day return - but with a few strings...

There they are, 3 new laptops at costco.
http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.aspx?cat=74801&eCat=BC|84|56670|74801&whse=BC&topnav=&hierPath=84*56670*74801*&lang=en-US -
They are a bit cheaper for now but not by much. The $2699 system at Costco comes out to $2863 straight from Alienware, the $2399 system at Costco is $2473 Straight from Alienware and the $1949 system at Costco is $1973 straight from Alienware.
Edit: The shipping is included in the price listed at Costco so you would save a little more there as well but you will still have to pay taxes. -
Would you still be able to get the personalized name plate if you ordered through costco?
-
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
not sure about name plate, all three are skull cap, no ripley, kinda a deal breaker.
but when you through in an extra year of warrenty through costco, thats another 200 dollar value. -
good question....but since i have mone now i am not really worried about that.
it seems that if you can purchase from them pre-configured, then i would say no.
edit: there is nothing saying you get the name plate. (unless i missed some extremely tiny print...) -
what game is that they are showing on the screen of the m15x? The one with the 8700M GT.
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Is there any chance that they would have a demo model in-store? I've only been to Costco once and I don't remember them selling laptops.
-
The Costco near me (in Mass.) has a few laptops on display (a couple HP, Sony and I think a Toshiba). My guess is they probably would not have an AW on display since it is not a common model and hence not a fast mover (in sales that is, not in performance
).
-
I believe the screenshot is that of Fallout 3.
-
note what a terrible photoshopping job they "screens" are
-
Thanks, Bubba.
haha, yea.
I know what you mean, Whizzo...
-
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
Wow! that is horrible, you would think someone in quality control isn't doing thier job. -
This stinks big time, consider your M15x a big waste of money because it wont be unique anymore and also they will its price probably by 45-50%... Im starting to hate Alienware more and more everyday.
-
That is exactly what costco is about. They get bargains on overstocked items, and then ship them nation wide and some how Sell them. MOST tv sets and other electronics at costco, are older models that have sat in a warehouse somewhere. Costco finds those deals.
LMAO this just shows you the truth about the M15x and how badly it has done as a Mobile platform. -
You assume that that the m15x has done bad just because it is sold at Costco. If this is the case then you might as well say that HP, Compaq, Toshiba, Acer, Gateway, Asus, Sony, and Dell laptops are bad too, since they are also sold at Costco.
-
I can't speak to TV sets and other electronics, but I can tell you they are selling state-of-the-art laptops as it relates to HP and Dell.
-
Therefore, people that think the m15x is a failure because it is being sold at Costco are the failures.
-
not really...
just another market for them to target.
while the exclusive feeling will be washed away a bit, i can understand from a business point of view the actions AW is taking in this venture.
i am still a proud owner of one, and got it before it was available at costco...
-
The ones from costco will not have nameplates. So, at least you can prove that the one you have was ordered directly from AW.
-
It isn't a failure that it is being sold at Costco Directly. It's a failure due the over amount of stock that AW had of this system.
Do people actually think they would be selling it at Costco if AW had M15x shortages, due to it being an amazing popular item. Lets be realistic people with the economy the way it is. AW are trying to liquidate inventory the only way it can. And it seems Costco just might be a way to do this. But why not Best Buy or Futureshop?
For a notebook manufacturer that was once at the very top of elitist, it must humbling to see what a FAILED product can do. And yes to me the M15x is a failed product yes I was one of the first to recieve one(with the 8800gtx and Extreme processor), and that was when my troubles began. -
OK, to you it is a failed product. Your m15x had failed on you. But, that doesn't mean that AW has failed on the system. Just because it is sold at Costco doesn't mean that it is a failed product like the HP's, Dell's, and other laptops that are sold there. What makes you think that other laptop manufacturer's don't have over stocks of their laptop's as well?
-
Costco sells old, outdated electronics? Are you talking about the 120mhz LCD TV's, the Sony Blue Ray players or the Wireless N routers?
Please, think before posting. I am sure that you have valid things to say but I for one am much less likely to listen to someone who posts obviously flawed information!
Costco has a very succesfull business model because they do not sell old, outdated produts. They hold a very low margin and demand that suppliers sell to them at low prices in order to make money. -
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
Actually Costco is known for quality products, My Grill I got from there is great, not to mention as someone else stated, they sell all the latest PCs, you can customize HPs even.
-
Take it easy there Izoid. My information is not flwaed and nor did I say ALL I SAID MOST. That means a lot of the items sold at Costco are overstock items NT ALL. Let be serious if the M15x was a super seller they woudln't need to sell them at costco now would they. Maybe it's a sign of the economy, or maybe it due to the OVERSTOCK of unsold M15x's. So if this was the killer 15.4 it was suppose to be there wouldn't be the overstock. As for Costco canada I notice a lot of items are older tech. Most shoppers never notice the difference. For example, they had some Samsung LCD's selling as the ultimate HD experience. They where the Samsung 550 series 42" LCD's. That is an old LCD display. The newest Samsung LCD's are the TOC 850 series. So that is my point. They got a great deal on UNSOLD items and are selling them at a discount and moving the product. Just like they are doing with the UNSOLD m15x's. Oh and 120 hz TV's have been out for a while and so has Wireless N routers.
-
I agree with you 100%. I have purchased amazing items from costco over teh years. Especially the Bar B Q. Oh and my Computer/office chair. That thing is so comfortable.
