Ok so after much searching looks like i will be getitng a m17 once the new gfx cards come out!

The thing is that i will be using it on my lap an not on any working surface? so to keep the laptop cool and my legs, is there a good laptop cooler out there not made for alienware PC's but works well with them, that i can use on my lap?

    many thanks!

i use a zalman nc2000 (the second gen of the 1000) and it does the job well. i do use it on my lap, but you have to be mindfull of the air intake at the bottom.

What do you mean about the air intake on the bottom?

the Zalman sucks in air from the bottom (with dual 8cm fans) and pushes it out the top, towards the underside of the notebook. if you block those intakes, you'll obviously lose cooling efficiency.

LOL thanks guys. Wasn't sure what was meant. I have never used a cooler before, but am thinking about gettin one due to the fact my M17 is in phase 8 now. I want it to last. So looking into this.

good idea, should increase the lifespan of your system. if the Zalman NC2000 doesn't appeal to you, take a look at the NZXT Cryo LX and the Enermax Aeolus.

If you get the NC2000, get in it in black. I had my NC2000 before my M17, it was black and had a blue LED. It matches perfectly with the M17.
