    Alienware gave me a free QX9300 in my M17!!!

    OMG. I cannot believe it.

    These are the specs I ordered (during the $699 sale):

    Dual ATI 3870
    P8600
    1200 Rez
    Blu ray
    160gb
    etc.

    This is what I got
    Dual ATI 3870
    QX9300
    1200 Rez
    Blu Ray
    320GB HD
    etc.

    I honestly cannot believe that I got this alienware for this price. To even get this laptop at the steal of a deal at $699 (with upgrades 1100) and to get surprised today after the unboxing and checking my specs - I just can't believe my eyes. I got the QX9300 instead of thed P8600 and the 320GB hd instead of the 160gb - why? Maybe because they ran out of parts? I do not know nor do I care to find out!

    Alienware, I love you, I really, really do.

    Did anybody who ordered during the 699 sale have a similar experience?

    Congratz mate. I just called up Alienware to ask about the processor upgrade and they said they're no processors in stock at all except the QX9300. This is the reason why you got the upgrade for free because they do not have the processor you requested already. Guess what, the QX9300 is priced to be at 1.2k US dollars as quoted by the tech support guy and it is more expensive than your entire laptop. :D

    yeah no kidding guys. honestly did not expect that from alienware. This honestly made my year. It's not everyday you get free stuff just perchance - especially from this company.


    And here I was thinking that I was going to rip out my wife's T9600 from her Asus laptop as I only got a P8600. :)

    Again - I didn't even come to these forums to purchase this laptop when this deal was posted.

    Someone else received an X9100 in place of the stock CPU.. Not as nice as the Qx9300 but still a great upgrade considering it was free..

    A really cheap one maybe...

    The QX9300 can be sold for $500-$600, minus $150 for a P8600 leaves, at most, a $450 bonus.

    yeah somebody received a 300Gb HD instead of a 160Gb from what I remember.

    nope...dell sent me an second laptop by mistake....i have tried to contact them so they can pick it up but no joy....as per usual they dont bother replying to my emails....their loss i suppose.....and hell yeah i want to sell one....but AFTER dell tell me they are to lazy to come pick it up!!!! dont feel like having to pay another 5000 euro in six months when they ask for it back!!! :)
